Happy Friday, Friends!!!

Festive Fun

We've been having so much festive fun around here and today I thought I'd share two of our FAVORITE festive traditions.  First up is our annual trip to The Gaylord Texan to look at decorations, eat cookies and kick off the holiday season right!

Griffin is 5.5 and so much to shop for right now.  She loves all things "little", imaginative play and artistic. I had so much fun putting together this list of things that she either has and loves or things that I think she would flip over :)

Today I'm sharing my gift guide for boys.  My boys are currently 7.5 and 10.5 and while they are very different a lot of their favorite things/toys have ended up being the same.  All of these items are either things that they have and love or are things that they're receiving for Christmas or their birthdays :)

Weekend Top 10

This weekend was packed with fun.  First up was a trip to the Harlem Globetrotters for Mason for his friends' birthdays.  They had awesome seats and Mason now wants to be a Globetrotter when he grows up.  

Women's Gift Guide

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!!! This entire week has been my FAVORITE.  The end. :) hahaha Seriously though - it came at the perfect time and a week with my people was exactly what I needed.  

We've played, decorated and snuggled to our heart's content and it's been the absolute best.

Hot Fudge Oreo Ice Cream Pie

Mason's Pie Feast was last week and they asked all the parents to provide a pie.  The traditional apple, pumpkin, chocolate cream, etc. were all scooped up pretty quickly and so I thought I would think "outside the box" and and bring a chicken pot pie.   Mason looked at me like I was CRAZY and told me that peas and carrots in a pie were not his idea of a good time so instead I opted to make an ice cream pie and it was a HIT! 

Christmas Porch with Walmart

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Today I'm talking outdoor Christmas decor with Walmart and I'm super excited because I've never really put much thought into our front porch for the holidays and I was so pleased with the selection and value available at Walmart.

Weekend Top 10

Friday was Grandparent's Day at school and we were so glad that my parents could join us as all three kids participated in a patriotic program that honored Veteran's and highlighted the Fine Arts programs.  I have a million pictures but they have a million faces of the kids classmates so you'll just have to trust me on how precious it was and look at this picture of Griffin making eyes at her Haha instead :)  Luke was part of the "fife and drum" portion as well and it was great to see him play his recorder after working hard all quarter.

 

Friday Favorites

Happy FRIDAY, friends!  It's extra happy around here because after wrapping up some things at school today we're all off for a whole week!!! Well... the kids and I are... Dave is knee deep in crazy season but we're hoping to get some good family time in early next week.

Christmas Doodle Town

Today I'm sharing a few new Christmas-inspired additions to my "doodle town" series.  I wrapped these up earlier this week and the kids have already spent a couple of hours coloring and creating...

Christmas Jams

With some majorly chilly temperatures this week we've been lighting the fire at night and I've started to pack up some of the Fall decor to get ready for CHRISTMAS!  All that to say, we've been feeling festive at our house and I thought I'd share my Christmas playlist with y'all.

"Go Tell It On The Mountain" has been a favorite around our house for YEARS and if you've been following here for a while you might remember the year that baby Griffin danced to this song NON-STOP.

I'd love to know what your favorite Christmas song is and/or what song you hate :)  I am NOT a fan of "Mary, Did You Know" and I know people have very strong opinions about that song.  Also not a fan of Silver Bells and when I was little my Granny would come to visit and make me play it for her over and over while she sat next to me on the piano bench and sang - hahaha - I'd offer other songs but it was ALWAYS Silver Bells :)

Thanksgiving Touches

Today I'm sharing a few Thanksgiving "touches" I have around the house to tide us over until ALLLLL the twinkle lights come out.  I kept everything pretty simple and opted for the blue/green/grey palette rather than the orange/gold/rust that I typically use.

NYC Girls Trip

I got back Tuesday afternoon from a whirlwind few days in NYC with my very best friends and I am SO EXCITED to share a little bit about it.  This was my third trip to NYC and I was more than excited about handing the reins over to  Shay and Erika and letting them run with the itinerary.  I feel like our friend group could go to IKEA for the day and have a blast so I wasn't too concerned about having a good time :)  and it was SO NICE to get to sit back and just be along for the ride. 

We hit the ground running at THREE FORTY FIVE on Saturday morning but I'm not sure I've ever jumped out of bed so happily despite the time :)  We landed, grabbed our bags and headed straight for the hotel.  We were a bit early to check in so we checked our bags and hit the streets running.  The weather was PERFECTION and we grabbed lunch at the Plaza Hotel Food Hall which was awesome because there was something for everyone.  A crepe and a diet coke for me and we were ready to hit the park.

(side note - there are TWENTY EIGHT kids between all of us.  Twenty.  Eight). hahaha

Christmas Books

I shared several books from our Christmas stash last year in THIS POST and today I'm sharing a few new titles that I've picked up to add to our collection this year.  I love to put out seasonal books as it makes picking a bedtime book extra easy and I find that having "fresh" books out sparks their interests and I often catch them reading through them independently or to each other.

Halloween 2018

Well, Halloween has come and gone and I can't even believe it!  This year's family costume was SO MUCH FUN and I'm not sure I've ever laughed so hard in my entire life.
