I'm resharing this recipe from earlier this year because summer is upon us which means a really no-bake dessert will for sure come in handy.
I randomly came across this recipe right before Thanksgiving and decided to give it a try and bring it with us to my parents house. IT TURNED OUT SO GOOD and it was super simple to make. We couldn't get enough and I already have a second one chilling in my refrigerator right now. I didn't snap a pic of the pie as a whole, so take this slice pic as my promise that it is INCREDIBLE!
Here's What You'll Need...
- 1 oreo pie crust
- Two 3.9-oz boxes of instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 pint half and half
- 1 tub cool whip (you can use the regular size tub... all my store had was the giant one)
- chocolate to use for shavings
Here's What You'll Do...
- Pour the half and half into the two packages of pudding mix and whisk until combined. I panicked a little bit because mine looked a little thick and like all the mix didn't dissolve BUT IT WAS FINE! Refrigerate it for about 5 minutes so it can set a bit.
- Put half of the pudding mixture into the crust
- Mix half the tub (the regular size tub not the small one) into the remaining half of the pudding mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until it's combined.
- Spread the cool whip/pudding mixture on the first layer and then top the whole thing with cool whip and sprinkle on some chocolate shavings.
- Chill for about 4 hours (or overnight), cut and serve chilled.
I really can't even explain how delish this was. I was skeptical but it was PERFECTION! Make this for Christmas! Make this for this weekend! Make it NOW and thank me later ;)
HAPPY Wednesday, friends!!!
I wish I had a piece right now!
