Magic Popcorn: Halloween Edition

Happy October, friends!!!  Today I'm sharing my magic popcorn with a Halloween spin and honestly, this was the easiest one to do because there is SO MUCH fun candy available right now :). I picked up some of our favorites and then added in a couple of fun finds to make a perfect movie-time snack.

Fall Gazebo

Happy Thursday, friends!  Today I thought I'd give you a quick peek at an area of our house that is making me EXTRA happy right now... our gazebo!  When we started our pool renovation (which I promise I'll share when it's complete - OMG) our plan was to tear it down but then the pool itself took literally 10 times longer than what we anticipated, I watched Gilmore Girls again and got sentimental about the gazebo and we moved our older furniture out here and decided to leave it for now.  Last weekend we went a little pumpkin crazy and have been enjoying lots of cooler evenings out there for games and dessert.

Halloween Decor

 I'm feeling extra festive this year and maybe it's all the time at home, maybe it's the desire for as much "normalcy" as possible... but whatever it is I couldn't wait to get the Halloween boxes out this year.

Bloody Fingers and Zombie Brains

I feel like I've saved my grossest Halloween recipe for last... and to say this was a hit would be an understatement because this was a HUUUUUUGE hit at my house and it's so ridiculously easy it would make the absolute perfect pre trick-or-treat meal.  

Mummy Candle Jars

The kids and I whipped up THE quickest and cutest little craft last night and the only negative was that we didn't make them a month ago to enjoy longer.

Scary Good Sunday Smorgasbord

Last Sunday I put together a "Scary Good Smorgasbord" and it may be my favorite dinner I've ever prepared.  We all love a good "sampler plate" and this was the PERFECT spread to snack on while we watched Halloween Town and relaxed after the end of a busy weekend.

Puking Pumpkin Experiment

As my kids get older (particularly my boys), I'm always looking for fun activities that they will think are cool.  Gone are the days of play dough and preschool crafts and here we are making  puking pumpkins - where has the time gone :)

Which Way to Witch School

I picked up  Which Way to Witch School on Amazon and we've read it at least once a day every day since then.  It's super cute and is probably Griffin's favorite Halloween book.  The book makes us giggle and the illustrations are entertaining.... and it rhymes which we love.  She's going to be a witch for Halloween and is into ALL things "witch" right now which is cracking me up because when I was her age I was OBSESSED with the Dorrie the Witch book series. 

Outdoor Halloween Decor

I shared our indoor Halloween decorations a couple of weeks ago but am just now sharing the outside because NOBODY at my house was about to get out there on a ladder to hang spiderwebs when it was 100+ degrees.  I even threw out the idea of "maybe we don't decorate the outside this year" and the kids were having NONE OF THAT!  Cue a crisp, cool morning this weekend and here we are...

Spooky Punch and Witch Leg Banner

One of our favorite Halloween books is Room on the Broom.  I feel like at this point it's pretty much a classic and today I'm sharing a couple of fun activities that could go along with the book OR just with Halloween fun in general.  

First up is one of my favorite Halloween traditions... "witches brew punch".  It's the EASIEST punch of all time but my kids LOVE it so much and when you present it in a smoking, bubbling cauldron it's pretty awesome.

Halloween Decor

It's FIIIIINALLY October 1st and to celebrate I'm sharing our Halloween decor.  I put it up this weekend and am feeling so festive ;)  The kids helped out and were SO EXCITED to see decorations go up and Im so excited to share!

Creepy Calzones

I'm not in Fall/Halloween mode YET but I saw this recipe in one of those Facebook videos, tried it for myself and wanted to share now in case you wanted to try it you have a chance to order  the skull pan :)  Yes... skull pan. hahaha  That's a sentence I didn't anticipate ever typing!

Halloween 2018

Well, Halloween has come and gone and I can't even believe it!  This year's family costume was SO MUCH FUN and I'm not sure I've ever laughed so hard in my entire life.  

Thankful for BOO Dinner

The night of HAlloween is always super busy - everyone is hyped up to trick-or-treat, there are costumes to get together and what feels like a dozen other moving pieces.  We like to keep dinner on Halloween simple and easy and so I put together something special and fun on Sunday night to kick-off Halloween week...

Doodle Town - Halloween Edition

In August I shared  a "doodle town" that I drew for the kids... simple little buildings that I drew and ran copies of for them to color, decorate and play with.  I got so much great feedback and I've LOVED seeing your kids doodle and play!

Happy October, everyone!  I'm going to be honest - some years I am GIDDY about pulling out all of my boxes and putting out ALLLL the Halloween things and other years I'm not feeling it as much.  This is one of my "off" years and so I kept things simple and a little more black and white than orange.  Come take a look!
