North Pole Breakfast 2022

Well - the happiest morning of the year at our house has happened and it was a little EXTRA happy this year ;) Griffin asked Buddy last year if he could bring a girl elf back with him this year and I HAD to oblige since this will probably be my last year to have a kid who actually believes.  So Buddy arrived last   Friday morning and brought his little sister, Trixie!

 

North Pole Breakfast 2019

Our elf, Buddy, made his annual return to our house Saturday morning and brought a special North Pole Breakfast with him.  We started this tradition in 2012 and it's one of my most favorite mornings of the whole year.  I did red and green for the first 6 years and then last year I mixed it up with a whole bunch of colored bottle brush trees.  My intention was to go back to red and green this year but then I was at Hobby Lobby and everything was half price and I ended up with supplies to make it a winter wonderland-ish theme instead :)

We kicked off December right this year with the return of our elf, Buddy and a North Pole Breakfast.  We started this tradition when I was pregnant with Griffin (the boys were 4 and 1) and the magic is yet to have worn off.

Our Elf on the Shelf returned on Saturday morning and brought our annual "North Pole Breakfast".  This is a tradition  we started back in 2012 and it's a morning we all look forward to.

This past Saturday our elf, Buddy, came back for the season and he brought his traditional North Pole Breakfast. ;)

Buddy REALLY enjoys decorating and making fun and pretty memories for Luke, Mason and Griffin ;)

Buddy always brings powdered sugar and chocolate donuts and he likes to make them festive with cute little toppers (ps - he may have picked up the red sparkley ones on a Valentine's clearance table) ;)

The little tree is from Griffin's room and this year he stepped it up with some snow balls, deco mesh and a Ruby Wrap as a topper.

All of the dishes are from Hobby Lobby in 2012 when this tradition started.

 The table was packed, so he set up a cute little hot cocoa station over by the stove...

The kids came in and IMMEDIATELY changed into their PJS (sidenote - these are by Hanna Andersson and are the softest, best pajamas of all time.  I snagged these on a clearance table last Spring - because I am crazy and think about Christmas stuff in May. hahaha)

Then it was time to CHOW!

Mason insisted on taking all the toppers and putting them onto his donut. ;)

In the little gift boxes each of the kids got a special ornament from Buddy.  He always picks something that represents the year and this year's ornament signified Luke's love affair with bacon ;)

Chef Mason got a mixer and little miss got a sparkly shoe.

 This morning might be better than Christmas morning for me ;)  I love the surprise, the excitement and the "magic" that comes with them thinking that Buddy brought the whole thing and set it all up for them.  I will say - I definitely don't do this for the glory... because a plush elf gets all the credit, but I have an absolute blast setting it all up.

All About The Elf

Y'all know who's coming???  Elf on the shelf, that's who.  I'm a planner, and in case you are too, I thought I'd share some of our "Elf Ideas"!

One of my favorite Christmas traditions happens sometime between Thanksgiving and December 1st and it's our North Pole Breakfast.

Our elf, Buddy, shows up and brings with him a sugary breakfast, treats and notes for the kids.

Your North Pole Breakfast could be as elaborate or simple as you'd like to make it - I err on the side of "over the top", but simple powdered sugar donuts on some fun paper Christmas plate could totally do the trick :)

Last year Buddy brought the kids each a Christmas movie and an ornament (that's what was wrapped in the tree).

and why does Buddy go to such great lengths to make it special???  This right here...

We have our fair share of, "Oh, look! Buddy is popping out of a stocking.... again!" mornings, but I do like to put some effort into moving him around, so if you're like me and you're jotting down ideas, here are a few of our favorites!
