Day in the Life - Summer Edition

I shared a Day in the Life on IG earlier this summer but it ended up being a busier day that I initially thought it would be with appointments and kid activities so today I'm sharing a day where we had nothing "official" on the agenda other than early morning cross country practice for the boys.

The boys had to be there before 7:30 and Dave took them (PRAISE HANDS!!!) so I could have a bit more time to sleep. 

Day In The Life: Spring Break Edition

Today I'm sharing what we were up to last week during Spring Break - TAKE ME BACK!!! ;) hahaha

I was up around 7:30 a.m. when our early riser crawled into our bed for some snuggles.  My boys sleep in WELL past 7 but Griffin has always been our early riser.

Day In The Life - Last Tuesday

Happy Thursday, friends!!!  Today I'm sharing a day in the life from last Tuesday which is ironic because today we're home and doing absolutely NOTHING because of an impending snow/ice storm.  Here we go!

6:25 a.m. - Up and at 'em... kind of ;)  This was my favorite kind of day (second day hair) so I got to sleep in a bit because there would be minimal effort required to make it look presentable.

Last time I shared a "day in the life" it was a pretty busy school day with activities after.  Today I'm sharing last Thursday since typically our Thursdays are a little slower paced :)

Day in the Life

 

Hey, friends! Now that we're back in the swing of things I thought I'd chronicle a day in the life!  This was from this past Tuesday and I didn't realize how busy the day was until I wrote the post so buckle up :) Next time I'll pick a day where we don't have activities after school to give y'all an idea of what that looks like.

My alarm went off at 5:40 and I'd be lying if I told you that I didn't lay in bed for a solid 15 minutes pretty much just mentally prepping for my day.

Day in the Life - Summer Edition

Today I'm sharing a day in the life - summer edition.  Some days are packed with friends and actives and what not and some days have NOTHING on the agenda.  This day ended up being a good mix of both so here we go!

I most definitely don't set an alarm in the summer unless I absolutely have to.  Most days I'm up between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.

Day in the Life

 Today I'm sharing a day in the life that I documented this past Monday because I realized it's my LAST full Monday of school!  Next week is exam week and middle school has half days so if I was going to do one this was the day!

I was up at 6:00 a.m and officially an old lady because the first thing I did was check the weather :) Then I laid there for 10 minutes going through my day in my head and thinking about what I was going to wear.  #truth

Day in the Life - Saturday Edition

Today I'm sharing a "Saturday in the Life" from last weekend because I get the "when do you have time for yourself" comment a lot when I share work days and the answer to that is "on the weekend!"

Most Saturdays we wake up to this cutie in our bed.  NOT MAD ABOUT IT! :) 

She came down around 8 and we snuggled, watched some cartoons and hung out for a bit before getting up and waking up the boys.  If we don't have anything on Saturday morning we definitely don't wake kids up but we had somewhere to be so we ended up waking the boys up around 8:30.  

Day in the Life: Christmas Break Edition

 Happy Thursday, friends!  I thought it would be fun today to share a "day in the life" Christmas Break edition!  This was Monday of last week and Dave was at home so it was a super productive family day - woo hoo!

I don't set an alarm during break but am typically up around 8:00.  Apparently on Monday I was up at exactly 8!

Day In the Life

Happy Tuesday, friends!  Now that we're getting back in the swing of things I thought I'd chronicle a day in our life and share.  Last Thursday was the day and it started off well with this excellent screenshot :)  But that about sums up how well I function in the morning. 

Day In the Life - Quarantine Edition

Today I thought it would be fun to share a day in the life "quarantine edition".  Even though we're kind of stuck in "groundhog day" mode every day does look a little different based on school assignments, zoom calls, what my classes are doing, Dave's work schedule, the weather (because recess!), etc. 

Yesterday was going to be a pretty "normal" day for us so I thought it would be a good one to document.

I've said it a million times before - I wish I could be a morning person... but I'm just not.  Quarantine has pushed me into ALMOST full on summer-sleeping-in mode :)  

Yesterday I was up around 8:30, which gave me enough time to get up...

Day In the Life - Last Thursday

Today I'm sharing a "Day in the Life" from last Thursday.  It was a day with no activities after school and I thought it would be fun to share a more low key kind of evening.

I always wake up at the very last possible minute.... and even then I lay in bed and think about how long I can stay there until it's almost too late :)  NOT a morning person over here!

Day in the Life - Sunday Edition

I'm jumping on the Day in the Life train and after completely failing at a summer day in the life I'm sharing a "typical Sunday" from a couple of weeks ago. 

I woke up around 7:15 and don't have a super early morning picture because I didn't think to document this day until I was in the shower and thinking through my to-do-list and decided a day-in-the-life post was in order.  I swear that I need to keep a notepad IN the shower because it's where I get a ton of ideas.  Just me?!?!  

7:40 or so I'm out of the shower and about to do some reading while I blow dry my hair.  I've talked about this for years but I LOVE to read while I blow dry.  Maybe it's the white noise and the lack of interruptions - who knows :) 

Weekend in the Life

Last year around this time I did a "Saturday in the life" video and it was super popular PLUS I thought it would be so fun to have a reminder about what our weekends looked like this year so I decided to document this past Saturday/Sunday and give y'all a peek into our weekend.  Some weekends we are on the RUN from start to finish and this weekend was a good example of a more "down" weekend so here we go...

I do NOT set an alarm on Saturday morning unless we have to be somewhere SUPER early.  Sometimes we all sleep past nine... other times we're up earlier it just depends.  No shame I crashed around 9:00 on Friday night and so when I woke up on my own a little before 7:00 I wasn't mad about it.

Day in the Life - "Day Off" Edition

When I did my little reader survey back in December, "Day in the Life" posts quickly rose to the very top of the requested posts list.  I love reading them as well and decided to document my day on Tuesday since it looked a little different than a "regular" day that I've documented before.

Earlier this week I got a sub and took a day off of work to chaperone a field trip and get caught up on a few things.  I requested off weeks ago and it worked out PERFECTLY because I was still recovering from an awful sinus infection and really needed a day to slow down.

Thankfully I had taken a shower earlier (seriously the only thing that was giving me any sense of relief while sick!) and so I was able to eek out every last minute of sleep on Tuesday morning.  My alarm went off at 6:30, but I think it was about 6:50 before I actually got up.  The kids alarms go off at 6:30 and in this time they'd all made their way downstairs and got themselves dressed.  We lay their uniforms out on the floor of our bedroom at night so they each have clean clothes (down to socks and underwear) accessible and there's no searching.  It's easier for us to keep ALL the uniforms in one central place than 3 separate closets.... their regular clothes they keep in their rooms.

Day in the Life - Wednesday Edition

If you read  my last Day in the Life post you'll remember that I was up at 5:15 to shower and do my hair and all of that... well... the next day was a MUCH better situation for me :) 

Day in the Life - Tuesday Edition

Today I'm sharing a "Day in the Life" detailing our Tuesday of last week.  Tuesdays are B.U.S.Y. around here and so I thought it would be fun to share an exceptionally busy day along with a more relaxed one (I'll share that next week). 

Tuesday started EARLY for me because I had to wash/dry my hair.  UGH!!!

Saturday in the Life

Happy Tuesday, friends!  We had an awesome President's Day - Dave was off and I feel like I finally had a chance to get my entire house put together and cleaned at the SAME TIME!!!  It was a President's Day MIRACLE! :)  

Last week I had the idea to share a "weekend in our life" since I've done day in the life posts several times BUT after putting together just Friday/Saturday I realized that it would be WAY too much to also include Sunday - so I'll save that for another day (plus... this Sunday we escaped to the lake!).

I'm still on the low end of the video editing learning curve so PRETTY PLEASE show me some grace and YES I know I'm a hot mess in 95% of the video... but that's me on the weekends.  End rant. :)  Also, I started my video on Friday because that's when I consider the start of the weekend.  

I can't wait to hear what y'all think and if you like the "vlog" (that word is so weird, right???) format.
