G's Memory Quilt

A couple of years ago I shared all about our family's memory quilts... one that I've made, t-shirt blankets that I've had made by a mail-in company and then a STUNNING quilt I had made out of my kids Christmas pajamas by a local quilter.  I was SO impressed with her work that a while ago when I was cleaning out some bins and G's closet and I had quite the collection of personalized clothes as well as some special dresses and Matilda Jane pieces I knew exactly who to go to ;)

I put all my items in a bin, made sure everything was clean and dropped it off with Anne.

She sent me several ideas and I immediately picked the large heart on the white background. She went through my stash of clothes and sent me updates along the way, but ultimately I let her do her thing because she is SO TALENTED!

PS - I had to recruit Mason and G to help me get these pics and they're not doing the quilt justice ;) hahahaha

She used so many of the pieces and when I look at the quilt I swear I can PICTURE so many sweet memories.

The kitty dress she had in multiple sizes over the years....

Those little flamingos in the pic above are from this top she wore when Anna Grace went to prom....

And I spy the sweet pj top with Griffin on it as well as the polka dot pants ;)

The most precious little monogramed gingham swimmie...

The quilt has squares of these pink and orange stripe MJ pants...

... the stripe shorts from this purple set she loved...

Can you spot the fabric from this sweet tiny nightgown (I actually bought this when I was pregnant with Luke "just in case" we ever had a girl)...

One of my FAVORITE Matilda Jane outfits of all time is in there

And if you look closely you can spot all kinds of pieces that she wore all the time...

I actually sold a TON of her clothes when she was little (Shoutout to all my Matilda Jane BST friends who still read here! hahahaha) and really what I had left were some super special "MJ Platinum pieces" that I couldn't bear to sell and then a lot of her personalized clothes from over the years.  If I had known I was going to do this I definitely would have kept more - hahaha

Griffin picked out the pink minky fabric to back it with...

... and then we picked this swirly heart design to quilt the whole thing.

One of the sweetest parts was that Anne suggested we embroider her name and a verse on it which I think was the absolute perfect finishing touch.

I know it sounds kind of dumb and vapid - but dressing a little girl was an absolute DREAM of mine and I absolutely LOVED all things Matilda Jane and personalized so to have something like this is just so special and nostalgic and is something that I think both G and I will treasure for years and years.

It's funny because I honestly had it made more for me than her (hahahaha) but she was SO EXCITED when it was done and immediately wanted it on her bed. She remembered a lot of the items (specifically some Boden nightgowns that she wore FOREVER) and I have a feeling it will be super well loved by her.

I said this before when I talked about my Christmas quilt - this is an investment piece. Anne is an absolute artist and professional with what she does and the amount of time and care that goes into a quilt like this is WAY more than a standard t-shirt blanket that you can have made by mailing shirts off (which I've also done a ton of times and loved).  The cost depends on the size of your quilt, the design, etc. but I know several of y'all have used Anne since I first mentioned her and have LOVED your pieces.  If you're interested I'd reach out to her on her social media and let her talk to you about time, price, etc.  She's an absolute GEM to work with and her work is next level.
