Happy Friday, friends! Erika and I are so excited that lots of y'all are linking up with us every week. Make sure that you're grabbing our graphic, linking back to us and sharing your own Friday Favorites post ;)
Happy Friday, friends! My list is short and sweet this week because I went back to work and YOUR GIRL IS TIRED!!! Listen - my job is one of my FAVORITE things but the reality check of no longer having slow mornings has been ROUGH ;) Tea has been my BFF this week!
I will say a perk of going back to work is remembering that I own real clothes and wearing them is actually one of my FAVORITES ;) hahaha. This dress is for sure a FAVE.
Back when my kids were little inservice week was SO HARD because it meant they had to go to their babysitters house or extended care at school and I felt a ton of mom guilt about it. We started sending them to Sky Ranch during that week so they could end their summer on a high and then this year it was so cool because they did "something" every day as siblings. Whether it was going out to lunch or a movie or to grab ice cream and run an errand together it made my heart SO HAPPY!!!
Last week we had some of our FAVORITE girlies over for a swim party...
... and I stocked up on treats for them and it always kills me because they all LOVE these Lofthouse sugar cookies and I think they taste like literal trash. I mean - it makes them VERY easy for me to resist but the fact that kids adore these makes me question everything ;) Are these your kids FAVORITES too?
Another FAVORITE park of the week was getting to hang out with some of my FAVORITE people again which includes some of our shenanigans starting up like moving this doll into hiding places in each others classrooms ;)
I snapped this after a covert weekend operation. Can you spot her? hahaha
Summer nights are a FAVORITE...
.... these cute flowers I planted outside of my classroom are a FAVORITE...
... and a whole lot of new spirit shirts are a FAVE.
To ease the "I have to join the real world again pain" this week I had my FAVORITE salad for lunch one day (the Harvest salad from Salata)...
... and my FAVORITE sandwich from Jimmy Johns another. YES MA'AM.
This time of the year is an absolute whirlwind but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't one of my FAVORITE times. I'm excited to meet my students, excited for new chapters for my kids and am FOR SURE excited about some fresh school supplies.
HAPPY Friday, friends!
You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!
I hope you have a lovely, restful weekend. It sounds like you need it after the return to work.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the kids have been having fun. x
I cannot wait for another year of cozy classroom tours! Welcome back, Mrs. McAnally! It's time for fall now!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies are DISGUSTING, I mean out of ALL the cookies at the store why would they choose those? Questioning their future life choices LOL
ReplyDeleteMy daughter ate those cookies every day of school all 13 years. She never wanted school cafeteria lunches. She has taught for 16 + years and still won't eat school lunches but she has finally grown up and doesn't eat the trashy cookies (as often).
ReplyDeleteI fully admit I've never heard of that brand/kind of sugar cookie before but they look a lot like ones my middle son likes and I honestly just don't EVER get the appeal of a sugar cookie. A sugar cookie is just missing so much... like chocolate chips or M&M's! :)
ReplyDeleteWhy do kids love those gross cookies? My kids and I were just talking about them the other day. My husband always jokes that their palates are not refined.
ReplyDeleteI miss Salata!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your kids a wonderful start to another school year! As a retired kindergarten teacher, I remember the switch from summer bliss to the frantic pace that came with the arrival of a new year. I loved it all but, boy, was I tired! Take care of yourself while you are juggling it all!
