Friday Favorites - Buddy's Back Edition

Happy Friday, friends!  I can't believe that today is Friday! I feel like this month is already flying by!  I have one more week of regular classes and then one week of exams and then I'm OUT for two weeks!  WOO HOO!!!

As you know, Buddy came back last weekend and this week he's been keeping us entertained with shenanigans.  Seeing their little faces light up every morning is my FAVORITE.

On Monday he packed the boys lunches and filled them with lots of his favorite things.  The boys thought this was HILARIOUS!!!

Tuesday we found him "elfoflaging" himself with facepaint and a camo Toms wedge :) hahaha

The face paint was just leftover from Halloween.  This would be cute with him peeking out of the tree as well.

On Wednesday morning there were two big wrapped presents by the fireplace.  They boys got soooooooooooo excited and as the anticipation levels grew I kept dropping hints like, "hey, don't forget to put your backpacks by the door", or "hey! has anyone seen the backpacks???" but, alas... the unwrapped presents were all they could think about.  Luke was CONVINCED it was something awesome.

The look on his face when he realized it was his own backpack wrapped up was priceless.  And heartbreaking. hahaha  If you do this, I'd suggest leaving the straps out so that the kids know it's their backpack and don't get all amped up thinking they're getting some awesome present.

Mason, on the other hand, was THRILLED to unwrap his. hahaha

Thursday morning Buddy had made himself some toast with a few sprinkles.  Someone on my IG commented that they thought it was glitter - which would have actually been cute as well!

We celebrated our anniversary on Tuesday night with dinner at Cavali's.  We had reservations at a different restaurant, but when we got in the car we decided that we both really just wanted our favorite pizza - and so that's what we did :)

then we got all wild and crazy and swung by the grocery store to pick up Starbucks and carrot cake and ate it in the parking lot :) hahaha

It was poor planning on our part 10 years ago to plan a wedding during what would end up being the busiest few weeks of our entire year.  Dave is in the middle of holiday parties and I'm deep in cards, exam prep, Christmas concerts, recitals, parties, etc.  I think we may start celebrating our "half-a-versary" in June ;)

Before we left for our hot date, this was the scene in our kitchen :) Our FAVORITES!

This week has been CHILLY which means it's tights weather!!  Colored tights are my FAVORITE and this green pair didn't disappoint.  I paired them with this dress and loved the colors together.

(Sidenote: I am laughing so hard because when I went to grab the link for the tights, I noticed that the "related products" are all tinkerbell costume pieces.  I'm not sure how I feel about this.  But regardless, the color is super fun. hahaha)

This girl in her Smart Girls Club tee reading books in her tent is my FAVORITE!!!

It was so cold and rainy yuck this past weekend, I feel ilke we had out every toy in the house.  Duplos were by far a FAVORITE and this giant train built by Mason and Luke was so much fun.

I found this marble track on Zulily this week for Mason and I think it's going to be a new FAVORITE.

Wednesday morning Dave dropped Griffin off at Miss Lisa's house and snapped this picture of her.  He texted it to me and I almost cried.  Her sweet little face is my FAVORITE!

Griffin has this little tree in her room and before bed Mason sings her "You are my sunshine" and the dance and giggle ;)  FAVORITE!

Saw this quote by one of my FAVORITE authors this week and instantly screen shotted it. LOVE it!

We put a baby gate up in Griffin's doorway at night because she's been known to get up in the morning and help herself to Sharpies and paper while everyone else is asleep (for real!) and we found her like this a couple of nights ago. hahaha  Those little footie jams are my FAVORITE!

And on another night I went to check on her and found her like this...

... and since I was making the rounds and checking on people I found these two :)  Jack's FAVORITE place to sleep is on Lukes bed.  LOVE!!!

This picture makes me laugh on the daily.  I'm weird, but it's my FAVORITE.

And in case you missed it, I'm giving away a Lily Jade Meggan bag on my Instagram!!!  It's my FAVORITE diaper bag and I can't wait for one of y'all to win one!  If you haven't already, look for this picture on my IG feed and enter to win!

I've blogged about my love for Lily Jade HERE and HERE and I can't say enough wonderful things about their bags.  They're durable, fashionable and practical.  They will LONG outlast the diaper bag phase in both function and style and (for me) make getting out and about with my three littles more manageable and enjoyable.

This weekend is going to be a great one!  Tomorrow morning we have Santa pictures with Narci - the ones she captures of our kids last year are some of my FAVORITE images EVER and I can't wait to see what we get this year.  Right after pictures we're picking up my parents and heading to see The Gift of Christmas at Prestonwood.  It is an AMAZING production put on at a local church and we can't wait to take the boys.

  4. Our elf, Skittles, also wrapped my daughter's bookbag this week (she is 8). She too thought he had left her a jam up gift and was beyond disappointed to only find it was her bookbag. But it was absolutely the funniest part of my day-the look on her face! I thought she was going to banish him back to the North Pole.

  8. I can totally relate to your anniversary issues...I dreamt of a Christmas wedding my whole life and when we got married on December 29th it was perfect. I had my twinkle lights, blood red rose bouquet, and holiday honeymoon to New York and I couldn't have wished for anything more. Twelve years later I now say a Christmas wedding is magical, but Christmas anniversaries stink. The "half-iversary" sounds perfect : )

  9. Girl, I know what you mean about your anniversary! Ours is December 17 and it falls right before Christmas, the last week of school, and I'm scrambling to finish up IEPs, and we had to spend our honeymoon at a bowl game! Like, we had to cancel our honeymoon for football! Those picks of GG in her bed and in her floor crack me up. DJ keeps asking when we're putting Addy in her big girl bed and not in her crib anymore but she's not climbing out and I'm sleeping too good to have a 2 year old wondering around the house again!

  13. Our anniversary is the Saturday before Thanksgiving -- also not the best time to celebrate anniversaries. We celebrated our 25th one year in April. Worked for us!
