It's been a minute since I did a weekend recap, but this weekend was extra fun so I felt like it was warranted ;) Friday night was a home football game so our whole crew headed to the stadium - I was volunteering working the gate, Dave was playing with drumline (they asked him to help this year even though Luke isn't in band anymore), G was running around with friends and Mason was on the field taking pics. Right before kickoff there was a lightning delay and about 30 minutes into the delay the storm came in QUICK...
... which had us all running for our cars and heading home STAT! It was one of the crazier storms I've been in which, for Texas, is saying something. hahaha
Check out the storm literally right on top of the stadium.
We were all at home, hanging out and grabbing dinner when we found out that kickoff would be happennig around 9:30 p.m. (vs the 7 pm original start time). Dave (who is a saint!) agreed to take a very excited Mason back to the stadium so he could try out his new lens.
And even though another storm rolled in and he only got to take pics for a half he had a blast and got a few of some of his friends ;)
Saturday morning it was in the sixties (PRAISE JESUS!) and Mason and I had an errand to run downtown so we headed out with G and it was seriously the prettiest morning on the square.
If you're local and love Maileg mice like we do make sure to stop by Willow House because they have a super cute kids section with lots!
We did the quickest little antique mall drop in and I'll for sure be back ASAP sans kids because FALL IS ARRIVING and it's my absolute favorite.
Got what we came for (more on that later!)...
... and got home in time to do some chores, grade some papers, clean up a bit and wrap a wedding gift.
I've mentioned Sharon on here several times over the years - she and I have taught together for probably 15 years. She has 3 boys who I taught and who all worked for Dave when he managed the country club and she's the one who drags me camping every year ;) Her son Sam was getting married and we were so excited to head out to celebrate. (Outfit details)
The bag is one of my favorite purchases EVER! Super fun and unique and I feel like it's timeless.
The venue was so pretty...
... and we were there a bit early so our collection of bus boys could get directions...
... and G and I could take over baby duty ;)
The plan was to be in the ceremony with her youngest grandbaby BUT he wasn't having it so G and I booked it out of the chapel and hung out in the reception area instead.
It wasn't long before we were joined by the other grandson/ring bearer who also was not having it. hahaha
We practiced some dance moves, had some snacks, and recruited some big boys to play cars.
We even brought some special cars with us because it's been way too long since I've gotten to buy someone Cars cars. (Were my kids the only ones who called cars from the Cars movie Cars cars?)
The wedding was beautiful and the weather was great and it's still surreal to me because these kids were JUST in 7th grade ;) hahaha. Sam has the sweetest group of MCA friends (still!) and it makes my heart so happy to see these kids maintain friendships that started in our classrooms and it's what I hope my kids have at their weddings!
Cutest bus boy I ever did see!
Congrats Sam and Rachael!
We didn't get home until midnight-ish on Saturday night and were all dragging a bit on Sunday morning so I have zero pics of anything BUT this was later in the afternoon and I'll share more later but Y'ALL.
I AM UNWELL!!!
HAPPY Monday, friends!!!
How is it possible that Sam is old enough to be married?! You looked gorgeous, friend! xx
