Thursday night we found ourselves enjoying a really gorgeous night in Frisco for the Party in the USA 5K. The boys ran this last year and it felt like the surface of the sun (even at 9 pm) so this was GLORIOUS!!!
The 5k kicked off at kaleidoscope park and as a side note - if you're local and looking for a fun splash pad area this was right outside of the Star and was super cute!
Rosie thoroughly enjoyed the mist ;) Rosie LOVES an event and absolutely eats up all the pats and snuggles she gets and we try to take her to as many things as possible and we were so excited that the weather was a bit milder so that she could come! (She doesn't handle the heat super well)
The boys (including Frank) were all running so G and I found a spot near the start/finish and got settled in for the drone show and then the race.
We completely missed all three of their finishes despite trying to use Life360 and timers to track them BUT we did get a peek at some fireworks ;)
Everyone finished strong including Frank who only had to make one potty stop and other than that never stopped running the whole 3 miles. Y'all. You've never seen a dog with shorter legs run as much as Frank. hahaha
It was such a fun night and I was cracking up because we were a total sideshow.
I fully expect Rosie to be on multiple Christmas cards this year as she was the starring member of at least 4 full family photo shoots. I forget just how big she is until we take her out and people lose their dang minds ;)
Friday morning the kids had a XC event bright and early at Rudy's BBQ - it was a relay style practice followed up by breakfast tacos. Amen.
After practice they opted to forego the parade so I'm posting this pic of Luke at the very first July 4 McKinney parade back in 2011. SIGH.
The kids got home and we pretty much immediately hit the pool. I had fun putting together a festive little lunch spread...
... and then it was back outside for floating, putting, relaxing, etc.
My parents came by later in the afternoon for games...
... burgers...
... pie...
... and a Pokemon lecture ;) hahaha
We ended the night watching fireworks from an inadvertently perfect spot - perfect meaning that we could see everything and were able to get out and home in about 10 minutes. Y'all know what a big deal that is!
It was low-key, festive and fun - just the way we like it! Happy Tuesday, friends!
