Friday Favorites

Erika and I are so excited that lots of y'all are linking up with us every week.  Make sure that you're grabbing our graphic, linking back to us and sharing your own Friday Favorites post ;)

Happy Friday, friends! Short and sweet this week because MAMA IS TIRED after a full day of fun yesterday and zero forethought to write this post ahead of time ;)

We kicked off the July 4th festivities at the Party in the USA 5K on Wednesday night...

The boys all ran it and G, Frank and I were there for moral support and cheering ;)

It was HOTTTTTT (yes... in the high nineties after 9 pm and in the dark) but the boys did great, had a blast and we finished the night off with bomb pops.  Amen.

Typically we head to downtown McKinney for the parade on July 4th morning but after a late night at the 5k and with no cross country practice (i.e. no 6:30 a.m. wakeup call) my whole crew opted for some sleeping in instead.  I LOVE a tradition and love a parade BUT never want to do something just because "we always do" so it was a quieter morning at home which meant I had time to work on a puzzle (not mad at it!) and we spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon hanging out and getting ready to have friends over.

The kids asked me what we were having for lunch and when I mentioned that I didn't have any plans the disappointment in not having "rocket dogs" was HEAVY. hahaha. Who knew that THIS was the part of the day that they most looked forward to ;)

I scrounged around in the fridge and made it happen even if it wasn't as colorful or themed as I'd have liked ;)

We had friends over for burgers, swimming and games...

... and then went out to Dave's parents house to shoot off some fireworks ;)

Super fun day with lots of our FAVORITES!

I hope y'all had a fantastic holiday and a restful weekend planned ahead!
