Today I thought I'd share my Top 10 Weekend "Happies" - just those little things that put a smile on my face and are sometimes too minor to mention but deserve a shoutout every once in a while :)
A clean kitchen on a Saturday night complete with wiped counters, clean floors and a candle. #amen
A whole big bag of samples that gets sent to you when you order cologne - LOVE trying new products and this was seriously like Christmas :)
EASY weekend dinners comprised of little bits of lots of things. No shame in my chicken nugget game!
A pre-dinner game of "train around the world" where even Gary Patterson gets a ride...
An afternoon with no agenda allowing some "spa time" complete with hair trim, mani AND pedi and a blowout :)
Fresh chocolate chip cookies and some Tenzi with my loves before bed.
Thankful for hot tea, comfy shirts and podcasts while I spend my Saturday morning cleaning.
A kiwi crate that inspired a game of "doctors office" that was sweet cooperative play with all three kids. BLESS!
Fresh and sunny flowers...
And lots and lots of much-needed quiet play thanks to a week of school, homework and activities
Looking for the "happies" is one of the easiest ways I've found to keep gratefulness in the forefront of my mind and I'm hoping that this week we can all look for and find lots of "happies" :)
PS - I'd love it if you'd leave a comment with a "happy" that you experienced this weekend. I'll pick a couple of y'all to send a little "happy" to and announce it on Wednesday - I so appreciate y'all reading and following along!!!
A happy for me is those 2.5 seconds when ALL THE LAUNDRY is washed and put away! The best 2.5 seconds of my life! ha!
ReplyDeleteHappy is watching my big girl, who is about to start kindergarten, overcome some nervousness and play on the playground with her classmates with a big smile on her face! ♥️♥️
ReplyDeleteI love all the happies :) . This stuff is my fave!
ReplyDeleteI love your little happy posts. They remind me of all I have to be thankful for, too!
ReplyDeleteOne little happy thing this weekend was when I had to sit in my five year-old's car seat while we rode around the city showing things to our out-of-town guests. I have giggled so many times thinking of all the stares I received of a grown woman almost sticking out of the roof of the car riding around and seeing the sights. :)
Another happy moment was ironing my clothes for the week while all my kids were piled on the couch next to me watching Fixer Upper. It's true that when you look for things to be thankful for, you realize that they are all around you!
A little happy is a FaceTime call with my best friend, dog cuddles, and college football.

ReplyDeleteMy happy this weekend happened on Sunday afternoon: my husband was watching golf and my special needs son was out of town visiting his grandparents so it was quiet; raining outside; I sat on my back porch and read for several hours. It was heaven!
ReplyDeleteWe made grocery shopping a family outing yesterday. There was no fighting or arguing. It was nice to have that time together since we had gone separate ways most of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 kids so alone time with each is hard to come by, but oh so important. Yesterday, my oldest went grocery shopping with me. Just she and I perusing the aisles with great conversation. It might not have been the most fun of places, but I was so happy just spending time with her and dreaming up what we could fix for dinner each night this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your "happies" with us! <3

I love that idea of finding “happies” instead of dwelling on the “downies”.

:)
I had lots of "happies" this weekend, but a special one was time with our 20-yr-old who lives 1.5 hours away -- I was playing in a tennis tournament in his city and he came to dinner with the team one night and the next afternoon spent hours hanging out with his dad and I. SO FUN to have adult children too!!!

ReplyDeleteI've been feeling down with our older kids all leaving home.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I ran over to a home consignment store yesterday. They had fall decor out. It was a little happy in the midst of a sad time.
We are moving next weekend! I had several moments of pause. We had our last Friday movie night, our last Sunday snuggle with the kids in our bed, and our last crazy Monday morning in our current home. I am so excited for this next chapter, but also so grateful for all the memories, routines and traditions we started as a family in our current home.

So grateful to have a pool to go to, a body that can swim and move and a sweet husband who will take our kiddo to parties. :-) Happy Monday!

ReplyDeleteA Holy Spirit moment at church with the couple sitting behind us - we have been praying for a baby for 15 months....and the couple behind us (who we had never met) asked if we had any kids and then asked if we wanted kids. *Insert tears* She felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to pray for us and tell us that God hears our prayers and knows the desires of our heart! It filled my happy bucket to the brim and restored my faith during this dry season.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your happies!
My happy moment of the weekend: my 3.5 and 2.5 were riding the kiddie roller coaster at the county fair – the 2.5 year old started to get scared and wanted to get off. My 3.5 year old noticed this and put her arm around his shoulders the rest of the ride and was trying to get him to laugh. MY HEART burst. Having two littles so close in age is tough but then you have moments like this and it’s all worth it.
