Friday Favorites - June 17th

Happy Friday, Friends!

It's another Friday and another Friday Favorites!

Grab our graphic, link back to me, Erika, Narci (or all three of us!) and share your FAVORITES from the week!

This week has been pretty low-key... we've had lots of people in and out of the house (painters, internet, etc.) and so we've been housebound a bit.  We've been playing a TON of games and a surprisingly big hit has been this 1-100 number board.

A teacher at school was getting rid of it and I knew that it would be right up Luke's alley.  It's awesome because it is so open-ended.  Mason likes to put the numbers in order and we talk about patterns and counting by tens.  We've also started talking about evens and odds and he'll take out the odds or evens and then see how it leaves the opposite columns.  It's great because it's tactile and he can see the patterns.

For Luke we've been talking about multiples and removing multiples of certain numbers.  This week we talked about nines and he LOVED the pattern that it made when we took out the nines and we were able to talk about the sum of the digits of each multiple of nine and he could see how the sum was always nine and thought it was so cool!  It's a super basic toy, but has provided a ton of fun at our house.

I wasn't able to find the same board, but THIS ONE looks even better and seems like a great price for what you get.

I mentioned on my weekend recap post that I had a girls night with some of the moms from Mason's class and we were talking baby pictures and I found this one of Mason.  Seriously!  That teeny tiny little baby and his sweet smile are my FAVORITE!!!  He went from old man to super cute really quick :)

Wedding season and the start of summer are CRAZY in general for Dave (he's in charge of food service at a BIG country club) and this season has been INSANE (like... their biggest period in the history of the entire club) and he FINALLY got a day off on Monday.  Daddy is Griffin's FAVORITE!

With painters and such in our house I've been having to keep the kids upstairs and out of the way so this spot has been their FAVORITE for some morning hangout time.

Mason and GG took swimming lessons this week and seeing them learn so much has been my FAVORITE.  As had seeing them in cute little suits together :)

Here they are showing two fingers for Day II (and there's Luke in the background refusing to be in the picture since technically he wasn't in lessons. hahaha

I was taking their pic and THIS happened!!!  OMG!

Priceless, right?!?!  I can't wait to show this to all of their future "friends" as they grow up. :) hahaha

And just when I didn't think the cuteness level could get any higher, this happened...

That squishy little goggle face KILLS me!

Diving board time at the end of the lessons is everybody's FAVORITE!

Luke was there and Miss Sally was helping him work on his diving and Griffin got up on the board after and wanted to do exactly what her big brother was doing :)

Leg pop and all! :)

I love how fearless GG is!

And when a friend from high school commented on my Facebook post with the Powderpuff Girl photo below I cracked up!!!  Maybe my FAVORITE pic of the week :)

It's no shocker that tiny people clothes are my FAVORITE.  I'm currently trying to convince myself that Griffin doesn't need these jeans.

And she definitely doesn't need these shoes and this top to go with them :)  #willpower

When we moved into this house I had visions of NO TOYS downstairs.  Well, being downstairs is apparently their FAVORITE ;) hahaha  They do play upstairs, but somehow they're wherever I am a lot of the time.... and I kind of love it.

I just got this coverup in the mail this week and I've already worn it twice.  Once out of the house as a dress... and I got a few compliments to boot! :)  It's definitely my new FAVORITE.

This is random, but worth mentioning...

We took the kids to Braums for ice cream on Wednesday night and then last night we went back to grab them cones to eat in the car on the way to pick up my dad at the airport and the girl in the drive thru goes, "Hey!  You were here last night!  I recognize your hair".  HAHAHAHA

Apparently my top knot makes quite the impression :)

I hope y'all have a WONDERFUL Father's Day weekend!  Our plans include absolutely nothing.  Just like we like it.  Grilling and swimming and just hanging out.  Our FAVORITE!

Happy (almost) weekend!

  6. If that coverup is like a gauzy material---beware when washing it! Mine shrank pretty bad and became an ankle dress haha. Have a great weekend!!!

  7. Love the cover up! If you wear it as a dress, do you wear it with a strapless bra or just throw a cover over your shoulders? I'm not a fan of strapless bra's, but I don't know how people pull these things off if they don't wear one. Help! :)

  13. The Sid Dickens tiles that you have-first, how do you get them to hang so straight? I feel that I'd constantly be straightening them. Second-do they ever go on sale? I love them, but at $98 each, I'm not sure I can afford it. Maybe on sale, though! Thank you!

    1. I just use a level... and this time I used these special hangers called Sid Savers as well. And no... they don't go on sale. I first saw them when I was working retail and it was a Sid Dickens policy that even if we were doing a storewide sale we weren't allowed to include Sid tiles. Or if people had a coupon, Sids were always excluded. The company is really big about keeping the integrity/value of the tiles up and they would actually pull their product from a store if they found out retailers were selling them for less than the standard price. Maybe check eBay?

    2. Oh! And ask for them as gifts :) I started collecting a little over 8 years ago and my in-laws have given me one for every birthday/Christmas since then. Dave knows that I love them and they're an easy go-to-gift for him to pick up for me where it's still a surprise and he knows I'll love it.
