Weekend Recap - PieFace Edition

Happy Monday, friends! This weekend was fast and furious, and I'm kind of wishing we had another day (or two) off :)

Friday morning was nuts.  It was Luke's birthday and so our normal morning routine was off along with having to bring his birthday cupcakes, special show and tell items, etc., etc., etc.  My mom stopped by the house on her way to work and was having a super sweet birthday moment with Luke - reminiscing about him as a baby and talking about how teeny and cute he was and when she paused Luke interjected, "Well, that's awkward!" :)  We laughed so hard!

It was chilly Friday morning and GG was looking super cute :)

At the end of the day I was able to go down to Luke's room and watch his birthday celebration with his class.  His teacher does a super cool Show and Tell (he had to bring items that corresponded with the letters in LIGHT).  He way beyond excited to get to bring in some of his favorite things.

After his show and tell, Luke's teacher prayed for him, which was my favorite part.

And then the most first grade birthday song of all time happened ;)

After the prayer and song it was cupcake time.  While they ate, they all took turns telling something that they liked about Luke.  How cool is that?!?!?!

After birthday time I ran a bunch of errands and then headed to the country club to get things ready for the 7th/8th grade semi-formal that night.  Grilled cheese on the road before picking up GG was my first break of the day. hahaha

I picked up Griffin and the boys and we met Dave at home for presents.  In the hustle and bustle of the week I didn't wrap Luke's presents.  He cared a lot.  #except not

So excited about his new Bionicle and the complete Harry Potter series!  He and I plan on reading these together and we can't wait!

Ready to party it up with my middle schoolers.  And by party I mean stop them from sucking helium immediately upon arrival and make sure that they "keep room for Jesus" (hahaha) while dancing. ;)

The key to any middle school vent?  Copious amounts of sugar.

I can't imagine teaching middle school with anyone else!  You definitely have to be able to laugh at yourself in our profession and we do that well :)

Dave was in and out of our event, but he jumped right in the photobooth with me ;)

Home after midnight meant that Saturday morning dance class came early!  Thank goodness for comfy hoodies, messy hair and baseball caps!

My dad normally golfs on Saturdays, but since he's out of commission for a few weeks he came with me and Griffin.  They're working on their recital piece and despite their regular teacher being at a competition with the older girls she was rocking it :)

We spent the rest of the afternoon playing, including my favorite game - sick patient.  Where you lay in bed and let the kids take care of you.  Yes, ma'am.

We played outside for a while, but the pollen is out of control!

After naptime, Griffin and Baby painted ;)

And after baths all around we called it an early night.

Sunday morning was church and Sunday school followed by a "quick trip" through the garden store with 2/3 of my littles.  Can you spy Mason?

Sunday afternoon we broke out the Pie Face game and the boys had THE BEST time!

AWANAs for the boys, trampoline for me and Griffin...

... and then a golf course cruise with Gibi and Haha.

Tomorrow is Show and Tell Tuesday and we're going to be talking about our Fantasy Talk shows :)  What kind of show would you host and who would you have on?  I can't wait to hear about all of your shows!!!

Happy Monday, girls!!!

  11. I think I would have loved to teach middle school. I taught seniors for 4 years, and I just couldn't handle it.

Btw- you're crazy Saturday morning hair? Puh-lease! It's gorgeous!
