Happy Monday, girls! This weekend was another "slow" one and was just what we needed going in to this crazy week. Friday morning I dropped Luke off at school, picked up a few students and headed to another Private school about 25 minutes away for the Area Math Olympics competition. This year ten out of my twelve district participants qualified to compete at area and we were so excited! On my way out the door Dave made a Mr.T reference :) hahahaha
As the competition got underway, the snow started falling. And it kept falling and falling and falling. As I sat in the waiting area, parents were checking their phones and as the snow piled up so were the car accidents. The event coordinators actually ended up ending the competition as soon as the testing portion was done and even though my students were bummed to not get their results that day, they were excited to get out in the snow. Me??? Not so much. hahaha
The normally 25 minute trip back to school took us close to two hours. It was icy and slick and tense - but the two hour sing-a-long and middle school conversation kept me at ease :)
Meanwhile at MCA...
I picked Luke up from extended care and he couldn't wait to get his (bare) hands in the snow!
When we got home the situation was pretty much the same :)
I knew that there was a chance of snow when I got dressed that morning, but usually that means a "dusting" - and by the time I got home my inappropriate footwear choice was blatantly obvious. hahaha
This little guy loved the snow as well!
Luke threw pj pants on over his jeans and he was out the door before I could make him put on more layers....
That's one happy boy!!!
and one (warm) happy mama!!!
Dave closed the club and picked up the littles from the sitter and Luke was "warming up" in the tub. The other two joined him in the bath and then I tried on a new Spring bubble on G... while she ate bbq chips :)
Those curls! Those lashes!
After dinner we put a movie on and everyone relaxed...
I decided to "rest my eyes" on the couch (keep in mind it was 6:30 p.m.) and was GONE in about 2 minutes. Dave snapped this lovely pic :)
Dave woke me up around 10 p.m., I grabbed a bite to eat and went right back to sleep. It was glorious.
Saturday morning we snuggled in bed and as I got my "lists" ready for the week, Griffin and Mason joined me :)
YAY for snow days!!! (and pig tails!)
Later that afternoon Dave went in to work and while the boys played Legos and G napped I indulged in some Starbucks and Amazing Race.
Yes... I was still in the same clothes as the day before (because that's what weekends are for, right?) and was toting Jack Bauer around with me as I put laundry away and picked up a bit. He loves to be held and carried. I'm pretty sure he thinks he's a baby :)
Satu
Saturday night Haha stopped by and read books with G (and Jack Bauer)...
... we ate pancakes for dinner and went to bed early :)
Sunday morning we all overslept (seriously - ooops!!!) and so we stayed put at home.
I caught up on school stuff, we played A LOT...
... and we enjoyed a fire.
Later in the afternoon, I swung through HomeGoods and picked up a few things for our bedroom "makeover". Not all of these came home with me.... any guesses which one I ended up with???
We ended the night with tortellini and some Netflix... and a faceplant in the pillows before 7 p.m. for Mason. It was a great weekend.
This is our last week of school before Spring Break and it's going to be a great one! I hope that y'all are enjoying some great weather and had a restful weekend!!!

DeleteListen, that sounds like an awesome weekend!! Glad you had the chance to relax!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :) Thanks, girly!
DeleteTotally diggin' the Griffin piggies. And I can't wait to see your bedroom reveal!!!!! Oh, and I would have had a full on panic attack driving those girls home in the snow! Good for you for keeping calm!
ReplyDeleteI hate driving in the snow/ice, but driving with other people's "precious cargo" is even more nerve wracking. Thankful that we made it home safe and had fun in the car while we did it :)
DeleteLoving the pigtails!!!! And I wish we had spring break next week. We still have a whole month to go. Have a great week!!!!
ReplyDeleteDo you still get Spring Break??? I've heard lots of schools are having to make up snow days during theirs :( BOO!!! Hopefully you get to hang on to yours!!!
DeleteLove the pics of Griffin!!! Your kiddos are so darn cute!! Can't wait to see your bedroom. I know it will be great! ;)
ReplyDeleteEEEK! The pressure is mounting! hahaha :) I'm loving the changes so far - so we'll see!

ReplyDeleteDoes it get any better than footie jams and piggies?!?! :) Thanks, girl!
DeleteWe all overslept yesterday and missed church too! Must have been the weather ;)
ReplyDeleteMy kids are like CLOCKWORK every other day of the week (including Saturdays!), but yesterday they must have all been wiped. Glad we weren't the only slackers!
DeleteHi, can you tell me where you got the area rug in your bedroom? I am looking for one like that.
ReplyDeleteSure! You're totally going to laugh though - it's remnant carpet from a local flooring store. It's two end pieces that I put together to make a big rug! :)
DeleteOh my goodness, I'm sure you enjoyed the snow once you were home!!! I hate driving on snow-covered roads, and I'm used to it! Cute pictures!
ReplyDeleteSnow is great to look at.... from my windows while drinking tea in my pjs. Otherwise I can do without it :)
DeleteCan you tell me where you got the bag from in your first picture? LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteSure! It's the St. Anne Tote from Barrington and it's so much fun because you can customize it!!! Here's a link...
