Show and Tell Tuesdays - Groundhog Day

It's time for another Show and Tell Tuesday!!!  Today we're sharing about our "groundhog day".... a day that we would repeat over and over and over again :)

If I'm being 100% honest - I was super excited about this topic, but when it came time to actually write it, I was kind of stumped. hahaha

I've been thinking about it a lot.... would I pick my wedding day, a day on vacation, Christmas day???
The truth is - I would probably pick a normal Saturday - with a few specifications :)

1) The kids would all wake up at 8 a.m.  We would all snuggle in our bed (with no pushing, complaining, or anyone putting their feet on anyone else). hahaha

After our snuggle/cartoon time we'd make pancakes...

And then spend the rest of the morning in our PJs playing and probably doing a craft.

We'd head to the park for a picnic lunch... preferably with friends...

and then head home for naps :)

We'd play in the backyard in the afternoon...

... and then head out to dinner with my parents after baths.

After dinner we'd come home, snuggle up again and watch a movie.

Keep in mind, that this day would be about 60 degrees and sunny and preferably in Fall :)

The funny thing about this post, is that it ended up being a fun way to really reflect on what I should be spending more time doing with my family.  I didn't pick a day full of errands or a day where I'm crabby and don't feel like getting out the paints.  I didn't pick a day where I have a long to-do list or a day where I am worried about finishing up projects.  I also didn't pick an extravagant day full of pricey outings or planned out events.  If I got to craft a day to repeat over and over I would pick a basic (yes, ideal, but still basic) day with my family and friends (and perfect weather). hahaha

I can't wait to read about what all of you picked and see whether it was a specific day revolving around a special moment or more of an "everyday" kind of day like me.

If you didn't link up today, be sure to look over the list of upcoming linkups and mark them on your calendar.  I think that the next topic will end up being one of my favorites... I LOVE hearing engagement stories!!! :)

Happy Tuesday, Friends!!!

  1. I also thought I'd pick a day that was "big" but in the end I ended up reliving a great memory. This was a great topic that made me reflect on what is important in life and who we want to spend our days sharing these memories. I love that you would focus on being with your family hanging out around the house.

  3. I enjoyed reading this! Have you ever read Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom? Mitch asks Morrie (who's dying of ALS) if he could have a perfect day what it would be. He thinks Morrie will speak of traveling, meeting famous people, and doing extravagant things during his perfect day, but instead Morrie describes a completely ordinary day just soaking up time with his loved ones and appreciating the little things in life we take for granted. Anyway, your post reminded me of that!

  8. Perfect repeat day. Life is life. Busy. To do list. Cleaning up. Correcting. Disciplining. Planning. Beautiful thing about the "perfect " day, it reminds us to occasionally slow down and just be!
    Great topic!

  9. Cute post, I have a story for you, I live in Chicago in a condo, I have commented before about your hair and your mini...well yesterday I was walking by American Girl of all places, and this cute lady had her little mini in all Mitilda Jane, so I said, I love those Matilda jane clothes...she went nuts, asking how a girl like me could know Matilda Jane clothes...I will take it only as a compliment, I was older then her, she did not know that...LOL, I told her about your blog, and her girlfriend lives in Texas , along with her mother-in-law, and she dresses her mini in all the clothes!! I just thought you would like to know a big city single lady was thinking very good thoughts of you and you mini yesterday!

  14. I would definitely pick my wedding day except this time around I would make sure we got to spend more time with our friends and family at the reception! It felt so rushed! Either that or any day of our honeymoon - we went to Mexico and it was glorious!

  15. I love reading your blog and keeping up with you and the rest of your Mommy Blogger friends! I think if I could, my GroundHog Day would be reliving the first day of school. Everyone is so excited to be reunited, and there's plenty of stories to share and new clothes to be worn. Plus a girl can't go wrong with new school supplies. I'm sure my GroundHog day will change as I get older and experience more, but for now I'm just 16 and that's all I got :)

  16. My Groundhog Day would be waking up at our beach house, going out to our favorite little breakfast place. Then taking a super long walk on the beach. Having lunch at our favorite fish and chips place and then going for a nice stroll thru downtown San Luis Obispo and window shopping. Drinks and appetizers on our patio and watching the sun set over the ocean. Lighting up our fire pit, ordering pizza from Geno's and then drinking wine and making s'mores and talking late into the night. All done with my favorite person- my husband!

  19. Your day sounds great! I think the best days are ones where the schedule is open and you can just take the time to enjoy each other rather than being in a rush. :-)
