Friday! Friday! Yipee!!!
Quick PSA - if you're linking up with us PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAASEEEE make sure that it's an actual Friday Favorites post. Like where you talk about Favorite things, moments, etc. Last week there were several super random links submitted (like to posts from months ago that were about really random stuff) that I had to remove. Also, please link to me, Erika, or Narci and grab our graphic below. It's super easy... just cut and paste the code and voila! :)
Temperatures in DFW are plummeting (and by plummeting I mean dipping below EIGHTY!!! And I'm dancing around in my blardigan and UGG boots yelling FALLELUJAH and baking pumpkin bread :) Y'all - I get it - I live in Dallas - get used to the heat. BUT - when it's so hot for so long I get excited. It's my thing.
This arctic blast has me reminiscing about one of my FAVORITE vacations EVER! In November of 2010 I packed up my maternity coats and some good books and Dave and I headed to The Homestead. We ate lots of pizza, I took lots of bubble baths and we slept with the windows open. I went to high tea every day (seriously!) and we played lots of cards. Dave golfed and I rode in the cart. It was blissful - I read books, drank hot chocolate and took in the scenery. I mean - GORGEOUS!!! We almost drove off the side of the mountain on our way TO the Homestead and I was convinced our teeny commuter plane from Charlotte to the regional airport was going to fall out of the sky - but it was still amazing. I would LOVE to go back with just Dave and I - but we'd also love to go with our kids when they're a bit older and can participate in some of the activities.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUhyphenhyphenmSj3ej9R8PuBr-pX4GXfGka-Olg_WzQT_Cm32fFso0oVv-T1qJsbrtx06qY58A0SaB9OI4fcsCVh5vxTOzLz0C9hHiCczni2DlH_oyqqqthYedAur7DKB6xTcZfbAG11rMCwTdBm4/s1600/photo+1+(3).JPG)
Dave texted me this "Happy Morning" picture earlier in the week and I think it might be my new FAVORITE :)![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6RGqnvYu8GkSwQy8dweofxvruPEeg4i6kD8YxQdA_5dm0-_bdnz-gsi50AdjGiesWY-Ghyt_vcVlE4LYFbVn1Vh2n1xI1tftD3f3S1OrLfShB18JOjOsR02vcQ3YZ26QyZSAoVXnPFqk/s1600/photo+4.JPG)
I feel like I've been talking a lot about nail polishes lately - but this one is REALLY good. It came in my September Maven Box and it's for sure a new FAVORITE.
My master bedroom post REALLY got my wheels spinning about our bedroom. I'm thinking that Fall is going to be a great time to get going on some projects (including paint!). These are two of my FAVORITE picks and I can't wait to start pulling inspiration and putting it all together!
This bed...
LOVING this color...
One of my FAVORITE things on IG is when I get tagged in pics that y'all take of my recipes that you try (and love!). I should be honest - it's a favorite moment AFTER I freak out wondering what picture I've been tagged in. hahaha
On afternoons that I get home before Dave (when he picks the kids up from the sitter - typically on days where he's going back to the club for dinners and stuff) Griffin's reaction to seeing me is my FAVORITE :)
Another FAVORITE moment is her taking a bottle before taking a short rest while I get dinner ready. She drinks out of a straw cup all the time - BUT every afternoon she guzzles a bottle of warm milk :) I treasure the sweet time with my baby girl.
Last, one of my favorite parts of the week is Small Group. I have a group of nine girls that I meet with every other week (the other weeks we have chapel) and we do a devotion and have a time of prayer. It's awesome. Jesus and Oreos... two of my favorites. This week we talked about "authentic vs counterfeit faith" and it was such a blessing. ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLTKiyrq8SpsP374pfNTTnNtwHhFvSZ97409tXaR5QQB6ZqTQ2KvyLrPdkWeZdLV7tDtfClklz2UaKNuVNO7zEMVCGNOCHnoyxVyAL4Aw1nRfKeFL3DmycmB4NykJI3bzqQMNoc9mBp_k/s1600/photo+5+(1).JPG)
I hope that y'all enjoy your weekend and the cooler weather!!! :)
I am ready for the cold! Bring on scarves, light coats, and booties :)
ReplyDeleteLove that nail color!! I can't imagine it still being in the 80s in September but I must say I would take it over the snow we had yesterday!! I want fall to come too!! Haha
ReplyDeleteAndrea, we are soul sisters. Seriously, in life...you are my soul sister :). Love you!
ReplyDeleteSweet G seeing you is precious. And I'm so excited about a possible bedroom transformation!!!! And I hear ya sister, real fear is when you get a "tag" notification on facebook. I would push down small children and the elderly (kind of like George in the fire episode on Seinfeld) to see what pic has been tagged.
ReplyDeleteThe Homestead sounds like SUCH an amazing vacation!!
ReplyDeleteLove that color polish!
Griffin's face upon seeing her mama is precious :)
Providence Olive is the color of my dining room! In fact, the entire family is my house's scheme! One shade lighter- Abingdon Putty, is our main color and one shade darker- Hancock Gray, is our accent wall and the ceilings in our foyer and rotunda. I've never regretted my colors! I have a house tour on my blog you can google and see them. Warning: I'm not a great photographer. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pics from your trip! So beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteAre you thinking a fire in this fireplace??? It could totally happen!!! Eek!!
