I've bragged on Dave's morning skills before - but I'm going to do it again.... because he's awesome.
In the mornings pretty much my only responsibility is getting myself up and ready and picking out an outfit for Griffin (which I typically do the night before anyway). Dave gets lunches ready and makes sure Luke gets dressed and then Luke and I are typically gone by 7:00. Sometimes the littles are awake when I leave, but some mornings they're still sleeping.
After I leave, Dave gets Mason and Griffin up, fed, dressed and to Miss Lisa's house. I told you - he's awesome. In between 1st and 2nd periods, I typically check my phone and I get to see a picture of the littles dressed and ready for the day. Dave always texts, "Happy Morning!" and, despite the pictures being anything but "picture perfect", they ALWAYS make me smile and more than often giggle as well :) See for yourself...
(note.... pre-haircut and post-haricut pics for Mason.... he's definitely a short-hair kind of guy) :)
If they're being particularly squirrely sometimes I'll get the carseat pic :)
(yes... they're both still rear facing in Dave's car - Griffin is still rear facing in our van as well)
Tuesday morning both of my super social kids were busy waving to landscapers across the street that they couldn't be bothered to look at Dave :).JPG)
Holding hands... I die!
Yes... she's playing with the outlet :) But she's wearing a bow and kind of looking - so we'll count it as a win. hahaha.JPG)
Yesterday morning I got a pic from Kroger (they had to stop and pick up diapers on the way to Miss Lisa's) and he washed her hair before they left because she rubbed banana in it. I'm telling you - I married up! :)
And look what I found....
This was their very first "Happy Morning" picture together!!! It's from August of last year and I MAY have ugly cried just a bit when I saw it last night. Because WHHHHHY to they have to grow up so fast?!?!?!
As I was writing this post Dave reminded me that this time next year the Happy Morning texts will just be of GG since Mason will be joining me and Luke at MCA. HOW CRAZY IS THAT?!?!
Ahhhhhh! I love that Dave does this every morning!! So sweet!! And listen, Mason has THE BEST faces. Ever. E-V-E-R. :)
ReplyDeleteSweet pictures ...
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing greater than having a super great partner to do life with!! Happy Thursday
ReplyDeleteBefore I saw that last picture, I was thinking G has grown up SO much. She's a toddler now! :( Then that last pic...waaaahhhh!!!! What a great dad!!! Super impressed he washed her hair before Mrs. Lisa's!!
ReplyDeleteYour husband is the best! You guys seem like a wonderful team. What are your husbands hours at work? That pretty great that he can bring the kids to the sitter.
ReplyDeleteThat is so great to see your cuties rear facing!! I see so many bloggers post pictures of kids forward facing too early or with twisted loose straps. Makes me cringe!
ReplyDeleteHe washed and styled G's hair AND went to the grocery store all before 9:00 a.m. I hope you pranced around in your blardigan like the model on the website to show him your gratitude. :)
ReplyDeletebest.comment.ever. ha!
DeleteYes! Best comment ever!
DeleteTotally agree! Took me a sec, but so so funny!!
DeleteAll too much cuteness this early in the morning! So adorable. And I bet Dave washed her hair because he knew it would bother you as Mommy~that is one considerate hubby! Love all your posts and pix, everything is fun and you don't take yourselves too seriously! I think that is wonderful and I'm sure your kids are much better for it. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteAndrea - what great pics of the kids! And how blessed you are to have a friend, husband and life partner in Dave. Cherish him!
ReplyDeleteThat is all too sweet! Such a great daddy and all those pictures are just too cute!!!
ReplyDelete3 cheers for awesome hubbies that don't think twice about taking care of the kids and whatever else needs to get done. I am proud to call one of those "hybrids" mine as well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great husband!! Mine would have sent our daughter off with banana in her hair & pretended he never knew it was there.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! What a blessing husbands are to their wives. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a champ! And that last pic of G sleepin. OMG!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! And I love all of Mason's mini Boden pants-darling!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, your kids are just too cute. Mason cracks me up and Griffin looks like a woman on a mission at all times! Love!
ReplyDeleteAww, that's a sweet man you have. I love that Griffin rubbed a banana in her hair. Sounds like our mornings, except I'd just wipe that 'nana out with a baby wipe and out the door we'd go! ;)
ReplyDeleteAMAZING DAD!!! My husband is sooo hands on….and I feel so so unbelievably lucky. But for real. He is a keeper! #heartmelts
ReplyDeleteThis whole post just melted me...seriously HOW sweet!! And I am uber impressed about the hair-washing after banana...& having seen her rub her hands through her hair while eating firsthand, I believe it!! ;) And p.s...loveee that she is donning the Ode to Shoes dress!! I will always remember this as one of my first MJ favs!! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are the sweetest pictures ever
ReplyDeleteYou are one lucky gal for sure
I love seeing my two little one's holding hands. It melts this mommy's heart every single time :)
The picture of Mason and Griffing holding hands is just too much. I don't know if there has been a more precious picture of the two of them!
