What's On... Your Wishlist

Happy Monday, Friends!!!
Today is What's On... Your Wishlist!

When I started this post I had every intention of talking about my "wishlist" and highlighting my master bedroom - which I would LOVE to makeover.

I started and stopped the post at least three times.

Then, last night, as we were hanging out out front and I was snapping pics I realized that THE ONLY thing on my wishlist right now is another two weeks of summer.  Seriously.

I go back to work tomorrow and I have no idea where the last 8 weeks have gone.  I have loved every minute of this special time at home with my kids.  Well - maybe not every minute... the minutes that I spent cleaning up after G pulled off her diaper in her crib and painted herself with poop and all the time I spent sweeping sand up off of my kitchen floor and, if I'm being totally honest, the times that I lost my patience with this crazy crew weren't my favorites.  But I still wouldn't trade them for anything.

The only way I can describe "Back-To-School" time for me is bittersweet.

I am devastated that I won't be spending all day every day with my babies - BUT I am excited about getting back in the classroom.

I'll miss snuggling on the family room floor reading books in our sleeping bags - BUT for 9 hours a day I won't have to wipe anyone. :)

I hate that I'll miss out on watching G rub yogurt through her hair and blow raspberries during lunch - BUT I am so grateful that the little ones get to spend their days with the most loving and caring babysitter and get to play with other kids their ages at the same time!

I'm going to miss getting to dress Griffin up multiple times a day - BUT I love the focus that being at work all day gives me when I get home... all I want to do is hang with my littles!

So, there you have it.  I just spilled my crazy heart out there for y'all :)

Instead of dwelling on the fact that today is my last day of summer, I'm going to soak in all the photobombs...

... dance moves...

... attempts at jumping...

... "Gwippin" kisses...

... brilliant ideas...

... foot races...

... "Hey, Mommy"s...

... and adoring glances while I can.

I also have to renew my driver's license... because it's been expired for six months and Dave is making me :)  But other than that errand I'll be RELISHING some family fun.

So... link up and share your wishlists!  I'll be needing some fun posts to look through while I sit through in-service meetings tomorrow.  Just kidding.  I totally pay attention in meetings all the time.  Totally. ;)

  8. I totally get it - I go back to work (guidance counselor) next week and even though my babies are 14 & 16 I feel the same way! I will miss the lazy days of summer and do not look forward to the very busy school schedule, but I am so grateful to be able to spend the summer off so I have to remind myself of that. I absolutely love the pics of your kids - that Mason cracks me up, Griffin is so adorable, and Luke seems so kind and sweet. Thanks for sharing your blessings with all of us!

  9. For the first time, your post has given me a pit in my stomach. I am a teacher who stays home with her two little kids all summer, too. I have two more weeks and we are trying to fit in all the fun we can. I have become a "Yes Mom" as often as I could this summer, thanks to you. Each summer gets easier (my boys are 4 and 6.5) and my heart is so sad to go back. But I know once I am there, I will be happy to see my coworkers, focus on my new kiddos, etc. But I feel your pain. Have a good week back!

You're such a great mom and your kiddos are so lucky you make their summers so special,..they'll always remember that!! Happy Monday

  16. While a lot of the time I am jealous of all my teacher friends who get the summer off to play, relax, etc. with their kiddos...I am totally happy that I work year round so I don't have to go through the back to school time with Xavier. I know I miss a lot with him during the day, but I try to make up for it on evenings and weekends :)

  17. These pictures seriously are THE best!! What a perfect perfect post for today especially!! The one with Dave & the kids in a circle is my fav! And I had to laugh at the expired license...I lost mine awhile ago (I swear it is somewhere in my house!!) haha & just can't make it to get a new one!! Ack! Glad to know I am not alone!! Enjoy your last day all day with the kiddies! I know you'll make it super special! Xo

  19. I totally laughed at your drivers license comment because I just did the same thing! Mine was expired for a while and then I couldn't find my social security card anywhere. So first I had to get a new ss card and then renew my license. Not fun. Good luck with going back to work. It's hard to leave those littles!

  20. I'm in the same boat as you, but just think how lucky you are to have your son in your school with you! I have had that for 6 years now, my son is entering our middle school so I still have 3 more years to keep my eye on him!

  21. I am right there with you!!! My two are 8 and 9 and I am SO thankful l have summer off and the same breaks as them...but I LOVE my job, too! But...I love to be home with them...99% of the time! ;) I agree...when I get home I try to leave my school work there (which doesn't always work...but I TRY!) and spend time with them! Hope your day does great!

  22. I love your positive attitude. I unfortunately can't find that, I am hating to see summer end. If I had a job to go to I might not but being here with only one of my babes instead of three of them makes me sad.
