Back 2 School Decorating

Y'all know I love decorating for holidays.  And the lack of good decorating holidays from January through October seriously bums me out.  I do my WHOLE house for Christmas and Halloween, the rest of the holidays I typically keep contained to the window by my kitchen sink.  When I took my Fourth of July decorations down, it took all my willpower to not get down my Halloween decorations.  :)
So instead of getting down the spider webs and pumpkins I decided to make my window a countdown to school...

Normally I wouldn't be super excited about going back and leaving my boys, but this year Luke gets to come with me! He is soooooooo excited for PreK :)

I took these pictures a while ago and the sign now ready FOUR weeks 'til school!  Luke starts on August 15th and I start inservice on the 8th (THAT'S THREE WEEKS, PEOPLE! THREE WEEKS!)

I found this globe one time at a thrift store for $3.  It's completely outdated, but super fun.  It's never really had a "place" anywhere, so I was glad I could find a purpose for it (and now I'm kind of on the hunt for other vintage globes... lots of fun ideas)

My apothecary jars are kind of my favorite thing ever!  Right now one is filled with apples, one with animal crackers (duh! one is pretty much always filled with animal crackers) and the other with packages of crayons.  I was going to dump the crayons... but I'm kind of OCD about my crayons and kind of didn't want them to mix.  I know - crazy town.

No holiday decor would be complete without a banner so I whipped this one up super quick and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

It's been fun to countdown the weeks with Luke - it'll be days before we know it!  I'm still excited for Halloween decorating, though.  I'm making myself wait until September 15th - but in the meantime I'm working on some fun Halloween projects (think paper bats, old scary shutters and creepy trees).

  2. Seriously, that is so cute and creative! Love the supplies in the apothecary jars! Question: How did you make your Back to School sign? Do you use a certain program or do you have a Cricut? Just wondering!! Love your blog! Jessica
