This past weekend was recital weekend which is always one of my favorite weekends of the year. Since G is older and in multiple classes I don't go in with her during the week so recital is really the first time I see any of her pieces which is so special.
Saturday started off super early with a 8:30 call time for her ballet dress rehearsal. So fun that her recital is at the school where Dave and I met - even though this whole part of the school is new since we were there ;)
I helped her get all settled in and situated in the dressing room...
... and then I peaced out for the morning. I sat in the auditorium and worked for a few hours so I could watch the dress rehearsal for her four numbers and take a few photos.
She was in a ballet piece...
... a super fun jazz number...
THE MOST FUN MUSICAL THEATER NUMBER EVER!!!
... and a super pretty lyrical piece.
... and then ran home to put together some flowers.
This year her studio had two shows. I watched her perform her lyrical piece in the 2:00 show and then I grabbed her and she and I ran to pick up smoothies...
Before she had to be back for the 5:30 show. She performed beautifully and had THE BEST TIME with her friends backstage. She really loves literally everything about dance and the production of it all and it's so fun to watch her get to do something she loves. A friend sent me these photos from her jazz piece and I couldn't stop smiling!
It had been a LONG day by the time the second show was over so she changed super quick, threw everything into her duffel and we BOOKED IT out of the performing arts center ;)
IT was SUCH a sweet day - busy and exhausting but literally the best. I know that we'll look back fondly on these crazy days and I'm trying to make the most of them!
HAPPY Tuesday, friends!!!
