North Pole Breakfast 2025

Last Friday we had our annual North Pole Breakfast and this year's theme was Christmas in NYC.  We talked a lot this summer about trying to go to New York this Christmas season but when we sat down to plan it out our schedules left zero margin - we tabled the discussion so it was super fun to get to plan a little nod to that.

I ordered some Christmas ornaments and the NYC wrapping paper last month, but other than that pulled everything from my bin of supplies that I've saved over the years.

The sparkle paper I had from years ago and the city plates I collect and already had.

The Santa glasses were an Anthropologie purchase from a few years ago....

... and the NYC mugs were also an Anthropologie find this season.

I'll typically do an ornament (or two) for each of the kids and a pair of pjs. This year I grabbed this set for G and ordered the NY pants for the boys.

The real stars of the show were the felt ornaments - I've been obsessed with these forever and they really tied everything together.

I typically use pre-made cupcake toppers but this year I made these out of the wrapping paper I bought to wrap their ornaments in and I feel like they were kind of the star of the show.

Aren't they the cutest?!?!!

All I did was cut out the little shapes and tape them onto a toothpick.

Every year I do a breakfast casserole with the chocolate and powdered sugar donuts and then usually fruit or yogurt.  Simple but it's tradition at this point ;)

They take turns opening their ornaments and little gifts and it's just a sweet time.

This year I MAY have gone a little ornament-crazy ;) hahaha

A perk of not having any believers anymore? I set this up before they went to bed (just told everyone to stay upstairs - hahaha) and we brunched around 10:00 a.m. YES MA'AM!!  When G asked us about the elf one of the first things she wanted to know is if we could still have a north pole breakfast so I don't see this tradition going anywhere :)

I hope that you found a little inspo or an idea or two for your own North Pole Breakfast! Honestly - this wouldn't have to even be elf on the shelf-related... you could easily do this on the first morning of Christmas break or just a random weekend.

HAPPY Tuesday, friends!

  1. I always love your North Pole Breakfast! I got inspiration from it years ago and love the tradition! We did ours last night, and it was simple but yet magical. Have a great day!!
