SaturDAY In The Life

This past Saturday I decided (on a whim) to take pictures and do a DITL post since it's been a hot minute since I've done one!

Griffin had an 8 am dance rehearsal so I was up around 7:30 to help her pull her hair into a bun before Dave took her to the studio.  While they were gone I gathered up some laundry....

.... and went ahead and started a load of laundry.

I let all the dogs out, fed everyone...

... and then emptied the dishwasher and washed a few popcorn bowls from movie night the night before.

A fresh cup of tea to get going ;)

I spent most of the morning just "resetting" things around the house.  I feel like some weeks are worse than others in terms of clutter and things kind of piling up and last week was HECTIC and so there was quite a bit of tidying to do.  Luke was at a pet sitting job and Mason was getting in some last minute sleep before a 9 am XC practice so I was more than happy to start this process myself ;)

Dave got home around 8:30, our Walmart order arrived and Mason was up and getting ready to head to XC.

Dave took Mason to XC (Luke was meeting him at practice after doing his morning dog-sitting duties) and I put some music and eye patches on and kept my momentum going ;) If a Saturday doesn't look like this I don't want it. hahahaha

As I tidied up and vacuumed I grabbed some pictures of my Halloween decorations for a blog post.

... and snapped this pictures of a Rosie "face print" on the chair.  That's her chin and jowls after drinking water ;)

I got an apple cider bundt cake in the oven...

... and when Dave got back from taking Mason to XC he and I folded some laundry (for the kids to take up) and tackled some other cleaning jobs.  The boys got home around 10:30 and I left around 10:40 to get G from dance...

.... with my second cup in hand.  Dave works on Saturdays and left around 11. He's a new home sales advisor for a subdivision in Lavon, Tx and typically has lots of Saturday/Sunday appointments with prospective buyers since people are off work.

Did I roll up in my PJS to the studio??? FOR SURE.

When I got back home all the tidying I had done earlier in the day was pretty much undone by weekend school project hustle ;) hahaha Mason was working on a diorama about Alberta which involved pulling out my Calgary Olympics souvenirs and then my rock, paper, scissors beads (more on that later) came in so it was pretty much just a hot mess in here (again).

I worked on a few things and the kids made themselves lunch and then around 2:00 I made myself a quick sandwich and headed up to school to work on some signs I was painting for our MS spirit week that started on Monday.

I had been up on Friday night painting the white letters and so my goal was to get a first coat of the colors done for all 8 signs.  I worked for a little over an hour and then called it quits and headed home.

Griffin was working on homework, Frank was lounging, Mason was still working on his project and Luke was doing yard work for his odd-job business.

Our Costco order came...

... I worked on sorting necklaces...

... and then my parents came by and I kind of lost track of taking photos.  They hung out for a couple of hours while the kids worked on projects and I got my Costco stuff put away and got dinner prepped.  My FAVORITE kind of afternoon.  Luke got home from doing yardstuff a little after 5...

.... Mason finished up his Calgary project...

... Dave got home around 6 and I finished up dinner...

We ate, hung out, and I pretty much forgot to take any pictures until I got a late Amazon delivery...

... washed my face and got ready for bed....

... and around 9 I was in my bed working on my computer on a bunch of stuff for this week's spirit week while Dave and the kids watched a movie.  Normally I'd be all in on a family night but sometimes knocking out a TON of work is necessary too.

Whew! And there you have it! Long gone are the Saturdays of volleyball games and birthday parties and hustling to here there and everywhere - but somehow the days are just as full.

HAPPY Wednesday, friends!!!
