Office HW Space

I spent some time this week working on cleaning out the office and ended up cleaning it and getting it ready for school in August (UGH!) and thought I'd share ;)

This view is pretty much the same - the French signs are Sugarboo via FB Marketplace as is the "You are my Sunshine" sign.  It's A LOT of words but I'm kind of loving it.

I have been wanting a giant bulletin board in here for a while now - to display old photos, kid art, etc. and I finally bit the bullet and ordered this one and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!

It's the 60x48 size and is gigantic and so much fun.  I pulled out old photos like this one of Dave and his grandpa, tooth fairy notes...

... sketches by Logan, notes that I've had stashed away in the desk drawers...

... photobooth pics...

... 2nd grade self portraits and just about everything in between.

It has ALREADY brought a ton of joy and I think that as it fills up it will just continue.  If you've been considering a big ol' bulletin board consider this your official encouragement to bite the bullet ;)

I kind of hate the walking pad in here, but it is what it is at the moment.  I had it in our bedroom, but moved it in here and am ready to move it back.

This shelf has hung here since probably the first month we moved in 9 years ago.  I changed things up a tiny bit but kept it sentimental as always...

The faith over fear sign is from Manda's fight with cancer, the lighthouse watercolor is from Cape Cod, the little painted rock is oen that I picked up during covid and kept (it says "just keep swimming" on it) and the people are from a vintage pop up.

The wooden shoes are a nod to my Dutch grandparents and one of my old trombone mouthpieces is even up there ;)

The biggest change I made was removing the GIANT computer I had on this desk.  I had a huge iMac that I used and loved BUT it's an oldie and updates just because too much for the ol' girl and I do pretty much everything on my Macbook now so it was time for her to go.  The thought was to turn this room into kind of a "zen" study/work area as we move into having kids in upper grades.  They can shut the doors in here to work and get out of their room and I'm hopeful that they find it useful.

You KNOW I love a school supply so it made me pretty much giddy to pick up these organizers and stock them with anything and everything that one might need while holed up in here getting work done.

The only thing better than fresh supplies are hyper-organized fresh supplies ;)

So far I've been the one really loving the quiet desk space, but I think the kids will really make great use out of this room once school starts back as well.

And there you have it! A few minor changes but the space is feeling new and more fitting for our family life.

HAPPY Tuesday, friends!!!

  2. I am fixing to buy this huge bulletin board and use it for all those misc. things that you shove in a drawer and have no idea what to do with, but don't want to get rid of. Thanks for showing us the cutest way to display them!!
