Happy Monday, friends! This was another full and fun weekend and today I thought I'd share a few of the big and little things that made me smile over the past few days.
I took the day off on Friday and one of my favorite things about being at home are the slow mornings. I had a bacon egg and cheese croissant and sipped my tea while looking at calendar things and it was just PERFECTION.
The whole reason I took the day was so that I could watch Luke run in the District track meet - but it turned out that he didn't run until later in the afternoon so I enjoyed my slow morning, tackled my closet and was able to play "mom" a bit before G had cheer tryouts that afternoon.
Luke ran the 400, 800 and 1600m and had a great meet to end the season.
He ended the day with a killer side cramp and ice-taped shins - and I'm not sure there's a more fitting way to end a season ;) hahaha
Mason, G, Dave and my parents were able to come out and watch him run which was such a treat.
We headed back home, grabbed a quick dinner and then Dave, Griffin, Mason and I headed downtown for Arts in Bloom. McKinney does a few festivals every year and this one is my FAVORITE because 1) the weather 2) the crowds are way smaller 3) there aren't any rides (is that tacky of me???) and 4) the ART!!!
We got to see so much cool art, shopped, and stopped OFTEN so people could pet Frank ;) Listen - I thought Rosie drew a crowd but it turns out Frank is next-level. hahaha I think Rosie has an intimidation factor to her while Frank is a bit more approachable.
We like to stop in at the cookie store and grab some cookies to share and then just stroll and see everything.
SUCH A FUN NIGHT!
Sidenote: Luke was invited BUT decided to head home and shower, take an epsom salt bath and chill ;)
Saturday morning Mason spent some time on the driving range....
... and G had her cheer uniform fitting for next year - isn't this the sweetest pic?
Saturday afternoon we tackled some things around the house and then I sent these three off to volunteer at our school's annual gala.
I finished getting myself ready and met Dave there. I took zero pictures of the actual event OR of us but we had a great time and love any chance we have to support the school.
Cutest greeters I ever did see!
Cereal in bed made me REALLY happy this weekend...
... so did finishing up this puzzle...
... and so did my new little zebra fern.
Last, but not least - this cute little scene put a big smile on my face!
I hope your weekend was equally happy and relaxing! HAPPY Monday, friends!
What a wonderful weekend! We love Arts & Bloom too!
