What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with  Shay and  Sheaffer to talk a little bit about what's been going on around here!

Well... Mason and I have been in Big Bend this week and have been enjoying meals cooked by 8th graders over hot coals ;) BUT before we left I made my chicken pot pie recipe but instead of making actual pot pies I served the filling over Mary B's biscuits.

This cute pics came across my Facebook timeline last week and I DIE! Sheaffer, can you EVEN?!?!?!

I saw this image pinned on Pinterest (with no link/source) and LOVE IT so much!  I think I'm going to make these with Griffin over Spring break.  If we end up making them I'll be sure to share the process.  I think they'd be a PERFECT mother's day craft/gift as well.

Sink baths forever ;) I LOVED giving my babies baths in the sink and I don't think Rosie ever fit in the sink even on the day we got her - hahaha - so I LOVE that we can give our teeny guy a sink bath.

Spring is right around the corner and while I'm ready for all the sunshine I am not ready for the crazy severe weather season here in Texas. It does crack me up that every month my "dread" is weather related. Whoops!

I'm still working on our summer trip plans - and I have the Cape Cod portion booked BUT am looking for a great hotel recommendation for Boston - so if you have one let me know!

I buy A LOT of stickers for school and I'm SO EXCITED about these! I'll share more when I get back from my trip but I'm pumped!

I'm currently STILL reading (and loving) The Frozen River...

... and Dave and I are rewatching Modern Family and laughing out loud every episode.  I had forgotten how much we loved it and it's been so fun to rewatch.

These Birkenstocks all day every day.

Hopefully a whole lot of NOTHING aside from celebrating our sweet niece!

SPRING BREAK, BABY!!!

I picked up this skirt from Anthropologie even though it was a bit out of my comfort zone and it's SO CUTE! I haven't quite figured out how I'll style it but I can't wait to wear it!

HAPPY Wednesday, friends!

  2. Marriott Longwharf is a great (central) Boston hotel location! Copley has a hotel attached to an indoor mall area, also good spot and convenient to T. The Verb is a very 'hip' spot right outside of Fenway if you're looking for something different!

  3. We love the Omni Parker House in Boston! It's got a lot of historical charm but the best part is its location. Walkable to Faneuil Hall, Old State House, the Seaport (aquarium), Boston Common, North End, Beacon Hill...the list goes on! We've stayed at a few nice hotels near the Pru and Copley, but we find there are way more 'must-sees' closer to the Omni so we prefer to be in that area.

I'm so glad you're going to experience New England!

  4. What are you looking for in a hotel in Boston? Is at the beginning or end of your trip — if so, I recommend the Hilton Boston or the Hyatt regency Boston harbor — you can turn in your rental car (or not pick it up yet) and not have to worry about additional parking costs (and driving in the city). Both have shuttles to the T. Hilton is more central and has a good coffee bar; Hyatt has amazing views and right next to the water taxi. If it is mid-point, I would stay outside the city and take public transit into the city. The commuter rail and t are super easy to use. Driving and parking in the city is not for the faint of heart.

  5. The Omni Hotel in the Seaport area of Boston is a good location. Walking distance to downtown and also the Seaport area, which my kids love. It also has a really cool heated rooftop pool.
