SaturDAY In The Life

This past Saturday was our first one without a cross country event so when I finally managed to get up I thought it might be a fun one to document!  Griffin had dance rehearsals starting at 8 a.m. so Dave took one for the team (BLESS HIM!) and got her up and to the studio.  I was up around 9:00 and took a few iutes to look ato ur calendar for the week, make a quick meal plan and order groceries from Costco and Walmart.

Saturday - Rice Casserole
Sunday - Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes
Monday - Costco Alfredo Chicken Pasta
Tuesday - Hot Dogs and Curly Fries
Wednesday - Pork Chops and Au Gratin Potatoes
Thursday - Chicken Pot Pie

My assistant ;)

Mason got up around 9:45 and the first thing he wanted to do was weigh and sort his candy from Halloween.  Yes.  That's 6+ pounds and doesn't include the bowl.

Dave ran to pick up G and I changed out of pjs into "comfies" ;)

I took some laundry to the washer...

... grabbed another cup of tea and some eye patches...

... and at 10:10 I was bringing in the Walmart order....

... when Luke made his way down as well.

Dave and G were headed home soI went ahead and made some little yogurt/granola/strawberry bowls...

Luke has been working for a friend helping them get their garage cleaned out, doing some yard stuff and building some pieces of furniture so he had his yogurt out in the garage while he finished up an end table.

G and Dave were home by about 10:15 - Frank was VERY excited about her lyrical dress...

... and my cleaning was going strong as evidenced by the tiny scrub brush...

cooktop cleaner...

... and baking soda/vinegar being out.

I threw in a load of laundry...

... G got meatloaf in a bath...

... and Mason finished sorting his Halloween candy ;)

Dave left for work a little before 11 and I started pulling Halloween down...

... while G and Frank worked on her sketch notes for English...

... and Mason settled in for some studying as well.

Luke headed over to our friends house to work a bit and dumped his dirty clothes in front of the washer that was already going (along with dog food Jack Bauer decided to spread everywhere).  Is there a more teenager move than this? hahaha

My Costco instacart arrived around 11:45...

Mason and G helped me put those groceries away and then I prepped a couple of meatloaves for Sunday night...

... and got some eggs boiled...

... and changed out my Halloween palte for Thanksgiving...

... and Mason and G made themselves some lunch and then we headed out to drop Mason off at Top Golf for a 1:00 birthday party.

We dropped off Mason and then G and I headed to Dicks to grab a couple of things (anyone else buying socks ALL THE TIME)...

... and we both had to stop and appreciate the Stanley and Owala displays because ALL THE COLOR!!!

After Dicks we hit up Homegoods...

... and then a kitty adoption event at Petco because OF COURSE we had to ;)

We got home around 2:30 and we walked the dogs and then Luke was heading home from helping out our friends with projects and he was heading out pretty quick to a charity event he was working at that night so I made some gravy really quick...

... and used some leftover pot roast, Hawaiian rolls and provolone to make him some sliders.

Apple for this girl while she wrapped up her notes...

... and then Mason got home around 3:20 and brought with him the chaos.

DON'T EVEN ASK WHAT WAS HAPPENING because I have no clue ;)

Luke left for his event, Mason and G were working on some school stuff and I got dinner going.

One of my friends gave me this vintage ornament apron last year and I use it pretty much daily.

I got the rice done and the kids helped me fold some laundry, Dave got home....

... and then nobody was hungry for dinner before we left for school to go watch the middle school production of a Seussified Christmas Carol.

IT WAS DARLING!!!

I LOVE going to school theater productions because it's just so much fun to see kids shine on stage.  I love the opportunities that theater gives students and will forever be the biggest fan of our school's theater program.  Mason is considering doing theater tech next year and I'm SO HOPING he does!

We got home around 8:30 and settled in on the couch with rice casserole...

... and leftover pizza for my non-rice lovers and spent the rest of the evening watching college football...

... snuggling puppies....

... and watching some Mighty Ducks.

Luke got home around 10:30...

... and once he was in for the night I did my nighttime routine...

... and woke up these cuties before getting in bed myself.

And there you have it! A pretty "average" Saturday at our house.

HAPPY Tuesday, friends!!!
