Happy Monday, friends! I was too wiped out on Thursday night to recap our Halloween so I'm sharing here and, honestly, it will probably be the last year I recap Halloween as anything more than a blip on my Friday Favorites since long gone are the days of the family costumes and pre-trick-or-treating spooky punch and all of that ;) Bittersweet for sure but WHAT A FUN season this is!
Thursday afternoon was the last football game of the season so G cheered at that and Mason hung out with friends...
... while I headed home and tried to pull some snacks and pizza together. G had invited a few of her friends to come over for dinner and trick-or-treating and Luke invited the entire cross country team over THE DAY BEFORE (hahaha) so I knew we'd have a house-full and wanted to make sure I had enough food to feed everyone.
Not a single kid cared what this table looked like BUT it makes my heart happy to make it cute and special and I know based on the sheer volume of food that was consumed that they appreciated the food part of it ;) hahaha
The football game went long so Rosie and I hung out in the driveway to pass out candy to a bunch of our sweet neighbors with younger kids and we had the best time.
I have LOVED trick-or-treating with my kids over the years, but, I think I may enjoy the candy-passing-out even more! Next year my plan is to plant myself here with the solo stove ;)
The girls got back from the game, got changed, ate and then we snapped these two pictures and they hit the streets in search of candy.
The moms and I tagged along and the nostalgia hits HARD every year because I used to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood when I was in middle school (I lived in the neighborhood next to the one we live in now).
Back home to sort, trade and check out their hauls.
G's friends headed out and we were left with a house full of high schoolers who played with our dogs and all ended up around the kitchen table playing Hitster.
No clue what was happening here but they were having fun :)
Where was Mason during all of this??? He was running around another neighborhood with friends all dressed in full Care Bears attire. hahahaha
Happy Monday and happy belated Halloween, friends!
I love this! How fun and bittersweet to see all the stages of childhood. The costumes were all on point, and the Halloween dinner spread looked amazing! Awesome job, Andrea!
ReplyDeleteSo bittersweet but so much fun too! My favorite part of Halloween has always been handing out candy and seeing everyone's costumes! I didn't get to do it when my kids were young, but now that they are grown and moved out I look forward to it every year! I don't care how old you are if you come up I will give you candy and comment on all the fun costumes!
ReplyDeleteYou make each occasion one to remember. God bless your children for the wonderful mother you are.

My son didn't trick or treat this year...said he was too old (14). He planted himself at the door and watching him when the littlest toddlers came knocking melted my heart.
