Friday Favorites

Erika and I are so excited that lots of y'all are linking up with us every week.  Make sure that you're grabbing our graphic, linking back to us and sharing your own Friday Favorites post ;)

A favorite from the week was a quick trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas for a track meet.  We stayed at The Graduate Hotel which is officially a new FAVORITE because LOOK HOW CUTE!

It's the carpet for me.  MY WORD!

We left after school on Friday and drove straight to Arkansas and after checking into the hotel went to check out the track facility.

There was a college meet happening and we hung out for a bit and watched that...

... and then headed to Taco & Tamale to grab dinner with friends.

I had a pork nacho skillet and there ARE some chips underneath there somewhere.

Luke and I got the strawberry hand pies and they were SO SO SO GOOD!

Did I mention that the hotel was CUTE?!?!

We got back to the hotel and I attempted to grade some papers before pretty much crashing...

... because we had to be back at the track at SEVEN AM.

Luke ran the 400m which started at 8 am and he'll tell you he wasn't nervous BUT he absolutely was ;) hahaha. It was his first time on an incline track which is a crazy experience in itself and just the sheer size of the meet and level of competition HAD to be intimidating.

After that race we grabbed some Starbucks and headed back to the hotel...

... to rest for a bit because we were both kind of exhausted.  We took some quick naps and I facetimed with Griffin so she could tell me about some special hand sanitizer she bought at the mall the night before??? (hahahaha)...

... and then we were up and at 'em for a quick stop at The Freckled Hen...

... and lunch at Hammontrees....

WHICH WAS INCREDIBLE!!!  The sandwiches were SO GOOD and if/when we ever get a chance to go back I'd get the sweet potato fries instead of the soup ;)

We were full of cheese and we headed back to the track around 2:00 to watch his teammates run and then just hung around until his next race at 7:00 p.m.  He wrapped up his race and we headed out around 8:30 and made a quick stop for gas and chick-fil-a which I had to convince him was okay to eat in the bed ;) hahaha

We were up bright and early Sunday morning to head back to McKinney and beat the snow that was blowing into Arkansas and Oklahoma...

I'll never turn down quality time with my kids and these past couple of weekends have been FAVORITES for sure!

If you need a super easy weeknight dinner we got these ravioli from Costco and they're a new FAVORITE.  I didn't realize they were grain and gluten free when I bought them and we were all pleasantly surprised by how super delicious they were.

While Luke and I were in Arkansas, Dave and these two ran some errands and headed to the mall (apparently their new favorite place)...

... this picture cracks me up so much!

Beanies and cute coats have been our FAVORITE this week...

... as has body glitter ;)

It was a spirit week at school (always a FAVORITE!) and Mason and I had "onesie wednesday"...

... and Luke had movie day among a few other fun themes.

Last, but not least - sweet friends are ALWAYS a FAVORITE!

HAPPY Friday, friends!!!

  1. I was in Bentonville last weekend for a visit and drove through Fayetteville again on Sunday. I ate at Hammontrees last fall and would have visited there again, but was trying to also beat the snow. That is a fabulous grilled cheese place! You are such a trooper with those early track meets! Enjoy the weekend!

  2. I love when you share your "spirit days!" I am a middle school teacher and would love to know what days the elementary had vs. the high school. I love one on one time with each child...these are the days right!!!
