I woke up last Thursday and decided to chronicle my day in the life - nothing major on the agenda just kind of a standard summer day.
I was up around 8:15 - Dave dropped the boys off at cross country at 8:00 and he woke me up when he got back home. Honestly... I laid in bed and just kind of hung out for about 20 minutes because not having to jump out of bed immediately is my favorite.
Teeth brushed, pj pants swapped out for leggings and a cardigan. And a messy room. But that was on my list for later ;)
I hopped in the car about 8:50 to go grab the boys from practice...
... the trails where they run are the prettiest make having to get up and get them a little easier ;)
Right on time and I hung out in the car with my hot tea and audiobook until the boys were done.
We headed home and the boys jumped (pushed each other) in the pool while I watered a few plants...
And made a mental note to trim the lantana that had gotten out of control!
After the boys were cooled off and my plants had a drink we headed inside for some breakfast and a game of carcassone...
Griffin FINALLY got out of bed around 10:00 (seriously... this has been her summer of sleeping in!)
... and the boys and I wrapped up our game around 10:30.
I had my daily planner meeting ;)....
I got some laundry out of the dryer...
... while the kids started a game of Monopoly.
I grabbed the mail which included some fun shirts for Dave...
... and a book written by a sweet friend!
I worked on shipping off my last few closet sale packages...
... and decided to attempt to fix the hair that I'd washed the night before.
At this point it was 12:20 and the kids were in charge of their own lunches which means they raided the fridge for leftover tortellini and air fried some chicken fingers. #fedisbest ;)
I headed out to drop off the closet sale packages...
.... and a couple of Amazon returns...
12:37 and 90+ degreesI and really regretting not changing out of my pajama shirt ;) hahahaha
I got home around 12:40 and the kids were back at Monopoly - they cleaned up their dishes and food and I had a special delivery!!! A sweet booth owner at a local antique store thought I needed the mate for my beloved swan planter and she was right!
LOOK HOW CUTE!!!
Kids went upstairs to have some screen time (the boys like to play x-box with friends and G likes to watch movies and draw at her desk) and I decided to make a salad for myself.
I sat down with my salad and a podcast...
.... and when that was done I decided to make some cookie dough...
... and around 2:00 had the kids come down to empty the dishwasher...
... and do a couple of other little chores (they moved planters for me, ran the vacuum on the stairs, wiped down their bathroom counters, etc.) to earn a little more time on the screens...
... while I put the kitchen back together after making a huge mess moving plants around...
... and finishing up watching a sermon that I started the day before. (My mom will send me sermons she recommends, I like listening to Jeff Warren who used to pastor our church, friends will send me links, etc.)
I talked on the phone with Sheaffer for a bit and pulled some weeds in our front garden while we chatted...
... and around 4:00 we played some games...
... including a few rounds of Twister ;)
I picked up in our bedroom while the kids worked on a puzzle...
... and Dave got home and he and G swung by a FB marketplace pickup for me and when he offered to grab pizza on the way home instead of me making the soup I'd planned on making I couldn't say no. Home with a table...
... and dinner. AMEN.
We ate and then headed out back to clean up a bit, move the table around, trim the lantana and swim ;)
Also working on this area!
We swam for a bit, cleaned up and then came back in to tackle the puzzle again.
Around 11:00 pm we wrapped up the puzzle/music time, I did my nighttime skincare and pretty much fell into bed to read.
So there you have it! A regular, non-eventful day in the life!
HAPPY Thursday, friends!!!
oh my goodness. 11pm? I'm dying by 9pm. haha. But I'm an early bird, up by 530am every day. Even in the summer
