It's no secret that Griffin's FAVORITE animal is the koala and I wasn't shocked when she asked for a koala-themed birthday dinner. I started looking for some inspiration via pinterest and was sad that everything out there (pretty much) was pastel pink and gray and was giving 'baby shower'. I decided to "go rogue" with colors that I knew she liked and then incorporate some gray in there to tie in the koalas.
I had these napkins and knew the pink and orange would be right up G's alley so I ran with those colors and it turned out so cute! The table "runner" was just a $2.50 roll of wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby that I cut a piece from. I love using wrapping paper as a runner because it's generally inexpensive and makes a big impact.
I got a few flowers from Trader Joe's to make a few little jars for the table...
and really lucked out with the lilies and freesia.
I bought a couple of these balloons from Amazon and blew them up with my balloon pump...
... and made a few "party koala" cake toppers using this figurine as well as this set of figurines and some leftover ribbons and pom poms ;)
LOOK HOW CUTE!!!
I found the gray and white wrapping paper at Hobby Lobby and grabbed the ribbon from the floral dept on clearance. SCORE! I love layering tulle with ribbon for fullness and extra color and I thought these turned out so cute!
Plopped those suckers on top of a homemade cheesecake (recipe to come!)
Griffin's meal of choice was cheeseburgers (yes ma'am!)...
.... and we ate, opened presents and got to see a fashion show of all the new clothes she got ;) HOW IS SHE OLD ENOUGH TO BE ASKING FOR CLOTHES?!?!?!
It was such a sweet night celebrating Griffin and it's extra fun because she REALLY loves the details and appreciates the decor ;). She loves a theme like her mama!
HAPPY Thursday, friends!!!
What a darling party for a darling girl!! You did the koala theme so well. I love her gifts. She looks so pleased with the whole celebration. Good job, Mama!
