Friday Favorites - Spring Break Edition

Erika and I are so excited that lots of y'all are linking up with us every week.  Make sure that you're grabbing our graphic, linking back to us and sharing your own Friday Favorites post ;)

Happy Friday, friends!  This week has been our Spring Break and I'm not sure I've ever needed a break more than I did this week!  We had nothing on our agenda and had a great mix of family time, rest time, friend time and FUN!

Monday morning we took advantage of some PERFECT weather and headed to the Dallas Zoo...

... and then made our way to Deep Ellum for some bbq at Pecan Lodge.

If you're local to Dallas or coming to town it's a MUST!  Hutchins in McKinney is kind of a big deal and we all agreed that this was better!

After lunch we shopped around a bit and stopped into some fun stores.  The boys both LOVED Shoe Politics...

If you have a kid who's into shoes it's a great place to stop by and check out.

G and I could have spent an hour in Archer Paper...

But we were summoned to Jeni's for a flight of ice cream ;)

Mason got his new shoes out to send a picture to a friend ;)  Look how cute he is!

Can we talk about how she still loves stuffed animals?!?!  Be still my heart.

We made a couple of other stops...

.....

... and then loaded up to head home ;)

While I miss the toddler day cuteness it sure is sweet to roll up to the zoo with not even a water bottle and then try a new restaurant, do a little mural walk and shop a bit.

Yesterday we met up with my parents and visited the George W. Bush Presidential Center and had another GREAT time!  I really didn't know what to expect but figured we'd give it a shot and we were all so impressed!

The entire museum was SOOO well done and beautifully put together.  There was a TON to see and learn and we were there for over two hours and were talking on the way home how we would all go again.

The highlight though was the replica Oval Office...

If you're local and thinking about going head there soon because they have a really great traveling exhibit on Freedom happening now that was great as well.

After the museum we stopped for a late lunch at Streets Fine Chicken in Oak Lawn and OH MY WORD it was so so so good!!!

The portions were large, the prices were super fair and the chicken was UNREAL!  The goat cheese grits were out of this world and Mason had fries with his meal which I'm still thinking about.

Another FAVORITE from the week has just been lazy days at home - working on some life skills 101 ;) like making your own scrambled eggs!  Sometimes I feel like since G is the "baby" in the family everyone just does things for her and so we've been working on some cooking skills and such ;)

A couple of FAVORITES from the internets this week...

But for real... why can't this happen to me ;)

Last, but not least - this picture perfectly sums up why Mason's bestie is his bestie and it's one of my FAVORITE pics of them ;) hahaha

I hope y'all are having the best week full of lots of your FAVORITE things!  We're scrambling today to fit in some last-minute things that have been on my to-do-list all week including some returns and other errands and then we're really excited to wrap up break serving at one of our favorite organizations.  I also have BIG nap plans this weekend ;) hahaha

HAPPY Friday, friends!!!
