Thanksgiving 2022

Happy Monday, friends!  Today I'm catching y'all up on some of the happenings around here including Thanksgiving!  We had a slow morning prepping a couple of desserts and green bean casserole and then headed to my parents for lunch.  They recently moved from their property in the country to a really great neighborhood MUCH closer but still "tucked away" off some country roads.  It's PERFECT and we were so excited to spend some time over there with them!

YES MA'AM!  I know that literally nobody cares about plate pics but I do so here you go ;) hahaha

We ate, cleaned up and then waited for a break in the rain to take a walk through their neighborhood.  We ended up getting SOAKED but it was still fun.

Back to the house for dessert, a few games...

... football...

... and lots of sibling time ;) hahaha

Attempted to snap a family pic when we got home...

... but after all that pie this is what 99% of my pictures looked like ;)

Cozy, casual outfit for Thanksgiving that's not pajamas ;)

We were home for less than an hour when this happened...

... AND THEN THIS HAPPENED!!!

The rest of the weekend was spent cleaning, enjoying some rainy days, running errands...

... and opening up and wrapping some Christmas gifts that arrived.  This pouch that I ordered for G's "art stuff" is PERFECTION and I had to wrap it up quick before I gave it to her early ;)

There were basketball lessons...

... and then Saturday morning was a rehearsal for the "McKinney Christmas" program our church puts on every year and our elves tagged along to watch.

Mason in his absolute element ;)

I stepped out of the sanctuary to find a donkey in the hallway - made my day!

Sunday morning basketball in between services...

... and these cuties did their thing ;)

Griffin was SO NERVOUS but did such a great job and her Away in a Manger solo absolutely made me tear up.  So proud of her for trying something new!

HAPPY Monday, friends!!!

  1. I love this! Only in Texas will you find real goats and a donkey for a Christmas play - here in Massachusetts we dress the kids up as goats and donkeys! ;) LOL

  2. I love everything about this post, but I especially LOVE that first picture of your dad and the kiddos. Your kids are so lucky to have a grandpa like the one they have! I love that he stops by plays games, reads stories to them---a blessing! I also love the Santa plates-where did you find them? I would LOVE the recipe for chocolate pie! Have a great week!!!
