What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with  Shay and  Sheaffer to talk a little bit about what's been going on around here!

I can't stop eating this Greek pita - it's just grilled chicken that I chop and toss in Greek dressing, then I throw in some cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumbers and red onion and feta cheese.  If I'm feeing crazy I'll dip it in hummus.  OH MY WORD!!!

All things red, white and blue!!!

I was running errands the other day and popped into Ulta and ended up walking out with a couple fun finds.  I'm totally a creature of habit when it comes to nail polish and Essie Toned Down is my go-to so I decided to branch out and try a couple that are pretty much the exact same :) hahaha  Actually they're both more blue than toned down and the essie one has a pretty shimmer but they're both great.

I've been reading about Gua Sha massage and picked up  this rose quartz stone and it's SO GOOD!!! I use it at night after I apply my serums and in the morning when I use moisturizer.  I can't attest to any long term benefits/results but it's definitely relaxing!

This past weekend was a busy one - Mason had an out-of-town football tournament and HOT would be an understatement.  The hottest weekend of the year plus turf fields in the late afternoon equaled some hot and sweaty boys!

Grateful for such a great group of boys and sweet parents who treat Mason like one of their own!  There were some great football pics shared but my favorite from the whole weekend was this one of the boys praying before dinner.  I MEAN.

I CAN NOT believe that it's already almost July!  We've been soaking in as much summer fun as possible but it is FLYING by!!!

I still have some house projects on my list for the summer but our master bedroom "refresh" is coming along and we're loving it so much!  I'll be sure to share when I have it pretty much complete!

I'm reading The Escape Room by Megan Goldin and IT IS SO GOOD!!! I read (and LOVED!) The Night Swim (also by Goldin) and loved it so much I immediately bought and dove into The Escape Room.

The kids and I have been listening to the Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest podcast and it is SO MUCH FUN!  We listen in the car or when we're eating lunch or doing puzzles and they all love it.  It's retellings of original Grimm fairytales and they are all intrigued by how weird they are :) hahaha

If I'm out about about it's more than likely a dress and Birkenstocks, at home it's either a bathing suit or leggings and a hoodie.  Yes... I wear leggings and hoodies inside all summer long.  It's cozy perfection and has been my wardrobe of choice for YEARS.

I've been loving  this tie dye hoodie that I grabbed on Etsy...

... and several of y'all noticed my  Camp Anawanna hoodie from last Fridays post which made my nineties Nickelodeon loving heart SO HAPPY!  My brother and I were HUUUGE Salute Your Shorts fans and I loved that some of y'all were too!

We don't have any plans set in stone quite yet but we're planning on going to the July 4th parade, spending a lot of time in the pool, hanging out with friends and (hopefully!) getting to watch some fireworks.

We're heading to Colorado for family camp and we are SO EXCITED!  We were there three years ago and we can't wait to be back.

Look how TEENY they all were the last time we were there!

Not a whole lot! Just enjoying our summer and trying to stay cool!

HAPPY Wednesday, friends!

  3. I'm jealous of the fact you can wear a hoodie in the summer; what do you keep your thermostat on during the summer? I'm in the Midwest, where our highs are in the 80's, and I'm DYING in a tshirt and shorts! I love a good hoodie, but my house is not cold enough to justify one in the summer!
