Weekend Happies - Father's Day Edition

Happy Tuesday, friends!!!  This weekend was a great one - lots of fun things with the kids but the best part was getting to celebrate Dave for Father's Day!

We started the morning off with presents and homemade cards before church...

Dave LOVES Top Gun - it was actually the first movie we watched together as well :) and when I saw this cute cake topper I knew we'd be able to put together something super fun and easy.  I made the cake and the kids and I decorated it with a TON of sprinkles, the topper and then some aviators.

I bought the jet balloons and then it was Luke's idea to use all white balloons to look like the contrails.  It was PERFECT!

I got out some of our patriotic decor (runner and mantle bunting)...

... and we kept the theme going with aviators as part of the place setting :)
(I had a bunch of older pairs of mine and the kids and they were a cute touch)

We had these flight suits and jacket in our costume box back from family camp a few years ago...

... and we were excited to get them out again.

We threw it all together while Dave was running to the grocery store to grab a couple of things and surprised him when he got back - it was super fun!

My parents came over Sunday night and we hung out, swam and ATE!

If there's an opportunity to do those cardboard poppers with the little toys and hats inside we're going to take it!  We always had these growing up and they're silly and fun and a sweet little tradition.

The cake was DELICIOUS and we wrapped up the night with some golf on the TV and in the family room.  PERFECT!

Other weekend happies included these two heading off to their last day of Pine Cove City camp.

They had the BEST week and when they got picked up their counselors gave them each a wood ornament with character qualities they saw in each of them written on the back.

Griffin had a really hard time saying goodbye to her counselor - sweet girls!!!

Last - Mason had a football tournament on Saturday which was so much fun to watch. He had a couple really great interceptions and their team ended up coming in third which was so exciting.

HAPPY Tuesday, friends!!!
