White Cheddar Mac and Cheese

It's no secret that we LOVE a good mac and cheese at our house and while my kids are completely partial to what we've dubbed "Mason Mac" I do try to branch out from our trusty Velveeta every so often and we all LOVED this white cheddar version.

Here's What You'll Need...

- 12 ounces cooked pasta (we used shells)

- 6 tablespoons butter

- 3/8 cup flour

- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

- 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle powder

- 1/2 teaspoon pepper

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 3 cups 2% milk

- 3 cups shredded sharp white cheddar

Here's What You'll Do...

Step 1) In a large saucepan, melt your butter and stir in the flour and seasonings until smooth.  Gradually whisk in the milk.  

Step 2) Bring it to a boil, stirring constantly and cook until thickened (about 6 minutes).  

Step 3) Remove from the heat, stir in the cheese until melted, add in the COOKED pasta and toss it to coat.

SO easy and honestly, you could use any type of cheese that you like (just make sure it's 3 cups) but if you're a white cheddar fan you'll love this!
