Ben's Banana Pudding

We were hanging out with friends for a game night after Thanksgiving and had the most DELICIOUS banana pudding EVER!  Turns out one of their kids, Ben, had made it and so it forever be known as Ben's Banana Pudding in our house :)  I made it earlier this week and it lived up to the hype in my memory and we all mmmmm-ed as we ate it.  Seriously.  So good.

What You'll Need...
- 1 block of cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 (14 oz can) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 large box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 tub cool whip
- 3 cups milk (at least 2%)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 box Nilla wafers
- 6-8 bananas

Step 1 - Beat the cream cheese on medium/high until it's smooth and kind of fluffy
Step 2 - Add in the sweetened condensed milk, pudding mix, milk and vanilla extract and beat until combined well.  (This took a WHILE in my stand mixer... probably more than 5 minutes on medium and then a couple of minutes on high.  The cream cheese was the correct temp but I kept having pieces of cream cheese that wouldn't incorporate.  Patience made perfect!)

Step 2 - Fold in half of the cool whip

Step 3 - Put a layer of Nilla wafers in a 9x13 and top with a layer of sliced bananas.  Then add 1/3 of the pudding mixture.  Repeat the layers twice more and then top with the last half of the cool whip.

Step 4 - Cover with saran wrap and refrigerate for a few hours before serving.

Seriously SO TASTY!!!  The second day the bananas may look a little dark - but it tastes absolutely fine.
If you make this I'd love to hear what you think!

  1. This sounds delicious to me, but my husband would have a conniption if I made an "imposter banana pudding"! lol He doesn't like the "fake" ones. He grew up with the homemade cooked kind....the kind that little old ladies made and brought by the foot tub fulls to church dinners. May have to sneak and make this one to take somewhere to share. :)
