Friday Faves

HAPPY Friday, friends!  This week FLEW by and I still can't believe it's already Friday!

Before I get into today's post I wanted to take a minute and invite  you to join me in praying for the families who lost a loved one in the attacks, during the recovery or now, years later as a result of being involved in clean up and rescue on 9/11.  #neverforget
Several years ago I did a blog linkup post where everyone shared where they were on 9/11 and if you're interested in reading those stories you can click  HERE

Erika and I are so excited that lots of y'all are linking up with us and if you're linking up with us make sure you grab our graphic, link back to one (or all!) of us and share your own Friday Favorites post.

At the tip top of our FAVORITES list this week is COOLER TEMPERATURES!  It was in the fifties yesterday morning and while it was probably just a tease before "third summer" starts here it was still GLORIOUS!

Jelly Bean has a new FAVORITE spot in our house... on top of the play restaurant in the dining room.  She can keep an eye on the front of the house while being safe from Rosie and Jack :)

This one makes me laugh - Pokemon is a FAVORITE at our house again! I feel like there's a cycle with Pokemon where they're OBSESSED for like 3 months, then forget about it for a year and then are back to being obsessed again.  They're currently loving it and I'm secretly hoping that they are over it by the time Christmas rolls around ;)

My least FAVORITE spot for her to be :)  We're working on it!

This past weekend I made one of  my most FAVORITE meals EVER!  I adore this pasta and it's just as good reheated for lunches during the week.  Prep can be a bit time consuming but it's so worth it!

One of my FAVORITE moments from the week was when Griffin brought home her homework page for the week and I read what she had for Math on Tuesday night :)  That's supposed to say SHEET!

It reminded me of this post from 2015...

A husband and wife author/illustrator team came to MCA last week to read their book Herba, Hoota Hound Dog Bird (I have no clue. hahaha) and this week the kindergartners wrote thank you notes to them, thanking them for coming in.

The librarian stopped by my room later in the afternoon to tell me that she had decided not to send Luke's thank you note.... but that she thought I might want to keep it.  Um, what?!?!?

See for yourself...........

This was my FAVORITE funny from the week...

... and in between dance and youth group I took the kids to grab dinner at one of Dave and my FAVORITE old school McKinney restaurants.  LOTS of fun memories at Baker's Drive-In!

The onion rings are my FAVORITE but the kids wanted to try the cheesy tots so we did those instead and they were DELISH!!!  Their burgers are great and Mason is a HUGE fan of their chicken tenders.

Another highlight of mine from the week was getting to bust out  my FAVORITE sweater! It's slouchy and NOT HOT and comes in a ton of colors.  I linked it a few times during the summer when it popped up on sale (like this color that I scooped up at Nordstrom Rack) and while I can't find it on sale right now you can check it out HERE and then keep an eye out for it going on sale.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

HAPPY Friday, friends!!!

  3. LOVE Luke's note! I'm going to have to call you later and remind you about Carter's "boob" story. Yep, he's got one too. Haha!

  4. What shoes are you wearing with the Free People sweater? I think you've linked them before...

  5. Start cooking your bacon in the oven. It is a total game changer. We use a broiler pain and cook it at 400 degrees and I start checking it at 15 minutes. The time will depend on your oven. It doesn't create a mess and you don't have to babysit it. If you don't have broiler pan, you can just line a cookie sheet with foil for easy cleam up.

  8. I think spelling mistakes were the one real highlight of my job teaching in elementary school; they almost beat the stories of home life told by the preschoolers and toddlers at the daycare!
