Pizza Pasta

Today I'm sharing one of my go-to quick and easy dinner recipes - it's heary, crowd-pleasing and makes enough for leftovers for my kids thermoses (or dinner!) the next day which is a big bonus.  It's SUPER flexible and if you serve it in  this awesome heart casserole dish it's instantly festive.

What You'll Need...
- 1 lb pasta
- 1 lb sausage (or ground beef)
- Shredded cheese (mozzarella or Italian blent)
- Mini pepperonis
- 1 jar of sauce (we like marinara)
- grated Parmesan cheese
- Whatever else you like on your pizza... green peppers, onions, diced ham, olives, etc.

Step 1 - Brown your meat of choice with some diced onion, drain the excess fat and pour in the jar of sauce and 1/2 cup or so of pepperonis.  You can also toss in about 1/2 of whatever other toppings you're using... so if you're using pineapple toss 1/2 of it in there, ham... half in there, etc.

Step 2- While your sauce is simmering, cook your pasta according to the package directions (cook it to al dente!).  Toss the pasta in with the sauce and transfer the whole thing to the baking dish. Sprinkle on some Parmesan, top it with the additional toppings and as much cheese as you like.

Step 3 - Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted.  Serve hot!

This isn't anything revolutionary BUT my kids always get a kick out of it and it's for sure a crowd pleaser.

Serve it alongside some garlic knots and a Ceasar salad and call it a day.

If you're in the market for the cutest heart baking dish of all time you can find it  HERE.  It's oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe and I love it so much.  I'm already brainstorming what I can make in it to bring to my kids teachers on Valentine's Day.  SO FUN!

Happy Wednesday, friends!!!
