Deck the Halls - Part I

It's the most wonderful time of the year... our house is FULL of twinkle lights and I AM HERE FOR IT!!!  Today I'm going to share the entry and upstairs Christmas decor because 1) I take too many pictures and 2) I still haven't finished decorating downstairs

Let's start with the front door...

... I had this rug customized with part of a line from Home Alone and LOVE IT!

Last year we had two 6-ft trees out here but the boys REALLY wanted trees in their rooms and I felt like the mums were too pretty to say goodbye to so I bought two pre-lit garlands and a gingham bow and kept things simple.

The bow is seriously SO CUTE and I just wired it on and it's perfect!

I linked everything below and I couldn't find the black-and-white bow online but I did find it in gold and red... I'd check your local store... it's under $7!

The playroom is probably my favorite room in the whole house.  I love the colors and coziness and we spend a TON of time up here.

This year I packed up all of our regular books and put all of the Christmas books out on this shelf....

The wooden block nativity is one that Griffin made several years ago...

... and the one below was a find at the Enchant Christmas market.

The nativity on the top was one that I bought for my mom years ago while I was in Mexico.  She doesn't put out many decorations anymore and so she's given me a few of my very favorite things from over the years.

All of our garlands are just plain un-lit garlands from Joann's that I add lights and extras to.  I like the extra fluffy garlands and found a bunch of them on sale a few years ago.

The star of the show upstairs is the tree...

It's a mixture of all kinds of crazy and colorful ornaments PACKED on there and it's perfection

The advent calendar was from Pottery Barn Kids a few years ago and I put the Crew and Co. advent cards in the pockets.  After reading time in the evenings we pull the card and read the corresponding story in the Jesus Storybook Bible.

In G's room I hung a couple of Christmas dresses on her peacock hooks...

... and she decorated this tree all on her own :)

She also made a few snowflake garlands...

... and then we put a few of the extra bottle brush trees on her bookcase.

Mason's tree won't be a surprise...

TCU!!! :)

And Luke's won't surprise y'all either...

He even turned some of his mini figures into ornaments.

Both my boys have  THESE TREES in their rooms.

So there you go!  Festive and cozy - just the way we like it.

A lot of our decor is several years old and I can't link directly to those items, but I've tried to find similar items and have linked those below.  The alphabet wreaths on the kids doors were from Ballard Designs several years ago.  If you have any questions, please let me know!!!

Happy Thursday, friends!!!
