Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!!! This week has been a little bit overwhelming with house stuff (when it rains it pours, right??!?!) and this post has been extra fun to write because looking for the "happy" in kind of a crappy week was a good thing for me :)
Erika Narci and I are all sharing our FAVORITES from the week and if you'd like to join us all you have to do is grab our graphic, link back to one (or all) of us and share your own Friday Favorites post.

First up on my list of FAVORITES are JACKETS in the morning!!!  It was in the fifties a few mornings this week and the puffy, cozy jackets were a FAVORITE.  I can handle a warm afternoon when it's crisp in the morning, amen?!?!?!

The cooler weather was an even bigger blessing and FAVORITE because our downstairs air conditioner went out.  We're SO GRATEFUL that it didn't happen during the record-setting temps last week!

This girl doing her thing (I think she was making a list of some sort) is my FAVORITE...

... and the kids' principal getting slimed was their FAVORITE last week ;)

This sunrise was a FAVORITE..

... and the way that Mason totally handled his entire backpack and binder being pretty much under water when our washing machine flooded the back hall this week was a FAVORITE too.  Mason is a lot like me in that sometimes we can let little things (or big things) get way too far under our skin and it can determine our mood for the whole day and as Dave and I were trying to clean up literal inches of water in the back hall the part that brought me to tears wasn't the water under our hardwoods, potentially broken washing machine, water going through the wall into the garage... but was knowing how much pride and effort Mason has been putting into his schoolwork and organized binder and seeing it completely soaked through about did me in.  I laid everything out to dry it out as much as I could overnight and when he saw it in the morning he was an absolute CHAMP!  A favorite moment in a not-so-fun situation. Proud of him!

Another FAVORITE this week has been the time we've been able to spend playing outside. Absolutely gorgeous evenings aer our FAVORITE.

The grading period ends today and this meme was a FAVORITE of our teacher group text this week...

And this cutie playing sweetly in her room was a FAVORITE.

Griffin has been loving making "outfits" lately and this one was a FAVORITE from the week...

... you can find the shirt  HERE (she's in a 5) and the sirt  HERE (she's in a small but the XS would have worked better because I had to safety pin this one in the back).  Her shoes are an Amazon find and you can find them  HERE.

Catching these two reading together was a FAVORITE...

... and  this dollhouse from last Christmas is STILL her FAVORITE.

Early morning hangman in my classroom was a FAVORITE...

.... and some evening golf lessons turned cruising the course was a FAVORITE as well.

I went with some girlfriends to see the new Downton Abbey movie and OMG it was SO SO SO GOOD!!!!  If you haven't seen it I HIGHLY recommend it! Heated seat, large diet coke, popcorn, Downton Abbey and girlfriends - doesn't get much better than that!  I wore  my FAVORITE super lightweight cashmere sweater with  leggings and  tennis shoes and pretty much felt like I was wearing pjs :)

I ordered  this print for Luke's room a few weeks ago and it came in this week...

... it is SO GOOD and he absolutely loves it.  If you have a Harry Potter fan on your hands it would make a great gift.  It comes in a variety of sizes and is beautifully done.

Probably my most FAVORITE of all the FAVORITES was this picture I snapped as Luke carried Griffin in from the car one day after school.  I'm pretty sure she was pretending to be asleep and wasn't actually sleeping but he still carried her to the couch and it made my heart MELT!

I hope that y'all have an awesome Friday and a wonderful weekend.  This weekend we're planning on getting the outside of our house Halloween-ready, cleaning out the garage now that it's cooler outside and (hopefully!) going to watch some marching bands perform.

Happy Friday, friends!!!

  1. I'm so surprised that you loved Downtown Abbey! I thought it was very meh. Maybe it was because it cost us about $30 for an evening movie, but it just seemed like a normal tv show to me without that interesting of a storyline. I haven't had a chance to talk to anyone else who has seen it though so maybe my husband and I were alone in our impression of it?

  6. So many great favorites. Why does Griffin look so grown up to me now whenever you share a new picture. What in the world is going on...my husband and I both got nails in our tires in the last week and now our upstairs A/C unit bit the dust last night. I feel your pain but enjoyed reading your post today.
