Happy Monday, friends! It's Homecoming Week this week which means I'm pretty much in "hold on tight and pray for the best" mode :) Hoping we make it through relatively unscathed! hahaha Thankfully we had a great weekend and I got lots of things on my to-do-list done so I feel like we're set up pretty well for the crazy few days coming up.
This was me leaving campus on Friday afternoon. Teacher life means moving in and out of school on a weekly basis. Lunch containers from my fridge, Mason's backpack that he left in my classroom before football practice, papers to grade, etc.
Griffin has been LOVING her big cheer bow (apparently bows are a "thing" in 1st grade this year) and I'm not mad about it. LOOK HOW CUTE in her spirit wear on Friday!
We played about two hundred rounds of PIT this weekend and loved every single one. It's our current favorite game - oldie but a goody!
Griffin had a cheer clinic on Saturday to get ready for Homecoming (the little cheerleaders will cheer with the middle school and varsity cheerleaders at a few different games/events this week) and she loved EVERY SINGLE MINUTE of it.
This would NOT have been my element as a kid (or now! hahaha) but it's so cool to see her discover what she loves to do!
I mean - I can't even deal with how sweet!
Does it surprise anyone that Mason went to get the mail out of the mailbox and came back with a gecko???
Saturday was a lot of playing, catching up on some grading and even some napping :)
Sunday after church we made a run to the dance store on the square to pick up new jazz shoes...
... and got talked into lunch at Sicily's :) It doesn't take much persuading though because it's seriously the best. If you're around McKinney head to Sicily's ASAP and get a pizza and tortellini sicilano without olives. Trust me.
I mean.
Sunday night we made an IKEA run because Luke's room is getting a little bit of an overhaul! Bigger bed and more desk space are the main goals and this kid has LOTS OF THOUGHTS on it :) hahaha
I hope y'all have an amazing day!
PS - this post contained an affiliate link... thank you so much for reading and supporting my blog!
I love following along with your family, they're the sweetest! I grew up playing board games with my family and plan to do that with my own family now... Any recommendations for the toddler age group??
ReplyDeleteMy son is almost four and he is loving Candy Land right now. I also just picked up the Let's Feed the Very Hungry Caterpillar game where you build a butterfly. We also love the Educational Insights games - we have the Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game and Koala Capers. I would say the Hungry Caterpillar game is a little harder but the other games would be good for younger kids as well.
DeleteGreat suggestions, Melissa!!! Candy Land is a HIT at our house :) Also check out Tenzi!
DeleteWhat a weekend! Can't wait to see Luke's new room!-Erika
ReplyDeleteMe too, girl. Me too.
DeleteWe went to Ikea Sunday too to pick up some new furniture for our son. Saturday I just decided all of a sudden to give his room an overhaul. I love that we could go to Ikea and remake his room for such a reasonable price. Looks like a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteYES!!! They have such good stuff! Now to just get it all assembled and get his old stuff out (insert scared face here) ;)
DeleteCarter is due for a room redo too! Can't wait to see Luke's!
ReplyDeleteMe too! He has LOTS of opinions so I'm anxious to see it, too! hahaha
DeleteI know what one of your top 10s weren't this weekend. Hahahahahaha! #blessyou #daveismyhero
ReplyDeleteME TOO, girl! ME TOO!
Deleteall the kiddos are really growing, but Luke is looking like a teenager!
ReplyDeletenext time we are in McKinney we will definitely try Sicily's!!
Right?!?! He's HUGE! He just gets better and cooler with age though so I'm allowing it :)
DeleteUpdate on Luke's room asap bc my 11 yo needs a room makeover too!
ReplyDeleteRequests have been 1) bigger bed 2) more places to display Legos 3) more space to build Legos hahaha
DeleteKeep your weekend of February 28th to March 1st open if you can. There is a huge cheer competition in Dallas called NCA. Our teams from Fargo, ND will be attending along with a million others. They will have Worlds level teams at it and I bet Griffin would love to attend. Wish I had a way to come see your adorable town while we are there, but I think we will be taking Ubers from hotel to venue. Here is more info - not sure they have spectator info out yet. https://www.varsity.com/nca/all-star/competitions/nationals/
ReplyDeleteAHH! How much fun would that be!!! I bet she'd love it!
DeleteI absolutely love the big bows!! And I know the feeling about moving in and out of school each weekend! I am just amazed you had a hand to actually take the picture!! usually don't! :P
