Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!!!

If you're linking up with Erika,  Narci and I today for Friday Favorites please make sure that you're including our graphic in your post, linking back to one (or all!) of us and linking up a Friday Favorites post (not a random post) :)

Mason's class has been studying the Colonial time period and this week their unit culminated in a couple of "Colonial Days".  Mason was assigned the role of wigmaker and he picked his costume and was FEELING IT when it arrived :)
'

The wig was AMAZING and cracking us all up!

Apparently even Colonial wigmakers like TCU :)

The costume came with a hat as well because OF COURSE it did.

Wednesday was "Colonial Shops" where each kid was assigned a role and ran their "shop" for a few hours as students from other grades, teachers and administrators walked through the classroom.  They each had a little speech prepared describing their role and the items on their table.  They could use modern items to represent ones from the Colonial time period and they were all in costume.  It was greatness.

Mason the wigmaker and William the clockmaker :)

His little sign.  The sweetest.

Thursday was Colonial Day where they had a whole afternoon of activities like wheat grinding, bread making, washing clothes on a washboard, etc.  Mason took the "use your imagination" part pretty seriously on his self portrait :)

He has had the best time learning all about Colonial times and KUDOS to his incredible teachers for making it absolutely come alive for him!  Hearing him talk excitedly about everything they've bene learning and then being SO PUMPED to dress up and participate was my FAVORITE this week.

Spring has sprung in my classroom and the sunshine has my plant lady showing :)

Y'all know that these are my FAVORITE :)

Another FAVORITE this week was the "Senior Walk" where the Seniors walk through campus in their caps and gowns and the entire school comes out and cheers for them.  Being at a school that's PreK through 12th grade it's really sweet and special.  There are kids graduating who have been at the school since PreK and all of their elementary teachers get to come out and clap for them and lots of the kids are teaching assistants in elementary classrooms or have had an elementary aged "buddy" at a sports camp and it's just a really special morning for the students and teachers.  I think I may even like the Senior Walk more than actual graduation.

A few of my FAVORITE outfits from the week included an old Free People top, jeans and  wedges for dinner with girlfriends...

... a fun skirt and  clogs...

... and a maxi dress and  these earrings.

We've had a lot of crazy weather this week and while that makes me super nervous - this view is kind of my FAVORITE.

Mason made this last week - FAVORITE!

And this CRACKED ME UP so much this week!!!
Leslie Knope is my FAVORITE as is this meme :)

We've been playing a ton of games around here and last weekend Natasha reminded me about  PIT and so I ordered it and we've been playing it EVERY NIGHT!  New FAVORITE!

And last, but not least, we found out this week that my brother and sister-in-law are expecting TWIN BOYS this Fall!  We are SO EXCITED to have two more nephews!  FAVORITE Facetime news!

We have a fun weekend planned - school musical, soccer game and football playoffs (fingers crossed!!!).  Hoping y'all have a wonderful weekend!!!

  6. My kids always grumble that they don't get an allowance for chores either and I often remind me that no one pays me to take care of the house either. That colonial costume is AMAZING!!

  9. I know you talked about them before, but could you remind me where you got the stackable bracelets you're wearing in the pictures above. You had said they were super light-weight and I love the look of them. I just can't remember which post you talked about them in. Thanks
