Big Love, Small Moments

Over the past several years I've loved making "family movies" for special occasions, vacations, etc. but the "everyday" moments (which are some of the best ones!) have often been shared and then "lost" as my instagram stories expire.  If I did think to save them, they've more than likely been added to my never-ending camera roll never to be seen again.  I decided back in December that one of my goals for the new year was to take more "every day" video clips in landscape format instead of on instastories and then make monthly "home movies".

It's an entire month of "us" put into 3.5 minutes (well... a little more because I couldn't leave out that dance class clip) and I feel like the lyrics of the JJ Heller song I put with it pretty much sums up my intention behind the goal.

Big love, small moments.

Next goal... get in the frame :)

Happy February, friends!!!

  2. You will be SOOOO happy to have these sweet videos of your family! I have a million pics of my kids (now teens) but very few videos. I wish I had taken more to hear their little kid voices and see them in action. It goes so fast, as you know! Great video - I know it took a lot of work to make it!

  4. I hate that my videos get lost on my phone too! Everything is so convenient with our phones, but I do worry that after his first 5 years (I've got great Shutterfly books for the first 5 years), Carter won't have many memories of his childhood through pictures! I need to be better too.

Your children make me smile--they are all so sweet because they have such a sweet mom & dad! You make me fall in love with you guys more everyday! Thank you for the video--how do you put the clips together like this? So SMART! I'm sure I'll watch this a few more times! Have a HaPpY WeeK!

  14. What a beautiful song and precious video!! I have been using the One Second Everyday App for three years now and I love it for the reason that it helps capture the small ordinary moments of life. And it's super easy to use too. Hope you have a happy week!

  20. OK, that was the most perfect thing I have seen in a long time!!! Wow. I have been doing "Picture of the Day" for years and years and try to make a photo album with them at the end of the year. . .but how fun to do a monthly video. Unfortunately I don't think my kids would be too "into" showing off for me anymore. . .but this is a great thought for other things in the future. What program did you use to put it all together?
