On Sunday we had a totally clear calendar (when does that ever happen?!?!?!) and so we chanced it on the weather and headed up to the lake to meet my dad who had been there working on some things. We hadn't been there even 5 minutes and Luke already had his tackle box out to show all of us :) The last time he was at the lake it was just him and my parents and so we hadn't seen all of his treasures yet and he was SO excited to share.
The tackle box belonged to my dad as a kid - such a treasure!
The weather was drizzly and chilly, but nothing that could stop us from getting out and exploring.
Beavers chewed down a tree right on the shoreline and so we had to check that out...
And then we got the boat out and Luke showed us how he can drive it...
Luke smiles the biggest at the lake :)
Mason and Griffin drove as well and Mason was a natural! He even pulled the boat up to the dock all on his own.
There was a LOT of good mud to play in as well...
... and Luke took the kayak out, too.
Griffin is quite the little fisherwoman and I love it!
And yes... they spent a good portion of the afternoon digging in the mud.
And y'all... here they were on Sunday...
... and here they were last November. SO CRAZY!!!
Griffin was SOAKED and I didn't bring her a change of socks so Haha loaned her a pair :)
It was such a great day and we always leave DIRTY, tired and with a ton of great memories. I love how much my kids love my parents lake house and we feel so blessed that they have a place to play in the mud, explore and just be KIDS!
Here's a quick little video of our day :)
HAPPY Thursday, friends!!!
I’d call this trip a success!
ReplyDeleteRight?!?! Thanks, friend!
DeleteI love, love, love your lake pics!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. Griffin looks like such a baby in the picture from last November. All three adorable as always!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it crazy?!?! I couldn't believe how much she's grown!
DeleteEvery kid needs a Ha Ha! He seems so patient with them!
ReplyDeleteTOTALLY!!!
DeleteSo many great memories....love how you just let your kids be kids. A little dirt never hurt anyone!!!😉
ReplyDeleteRight?!?! The dirtier you are the better time you had, right??? :)
DeleteThe way your parents love your children is amazing. My dad died 11 years ago when my oldest was 3 and daughter 1... and youngest wasn't even born. He had Alzheimer's ... so even that last years he wasn't really there. Seeing your daddy with your children always reminds me of who my daddy would have been to my kids and fills me with joy....not sadness. I LOVE the way your parents seem to love your children. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Word. Your comment totally made me tear up. Lots of LOVE to you!
DeleteLove your videos and your lake days!
ReplyDeleteEveryone (kids and adults) looks so HAPPY! But Griffin and Haha and the makeup...so precious :)
ReplyDeleteRight?!!? They're my favorite :)
DeleteI love the video soooo so much! Especially with Griffin putting makeup on Haha...so cute to see him just letting her do her thing and she's having such a great time and Mason's smile while he was steering the boat was so wonderful. I know you've shared before but what apps/programs do you use to make the videos? Thanks a bunch! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ashley!!! Some of my favorite parts as well :) I use iMovie
DeleteThese are the days:).
ReplyDeleteO my goodness. Your kids are too cute. That makeup set is ny favorite girly gift to give friends.
ReplyDeleteThat was the sweetest day. You should be so proud that you always pack a lot in one day.
Have you interviewed your parents for your blog? I think that would be interesting + they seem super fun.
I haven't!!! But what a great idea!
DeleteWhat fun! That comparison picture though...your kiddos are looking so grown up (especially Luke!).
