Happy Friday, friends!
Erika, Narci and I are all sharing our Friday Favorites and we'd love for you to join us! Grab our graphic, link back to one (or all!) of us and link to your blog at the bottom of this post. Easy!
This has been a super fun week as we dove back into "real life" after vacation with a holiday! We got to the downtown square early to get a shady spot and enjoy a few donuts....
... and as some of our FAVORITE people arrived the corner got packed in with excited kids :)
The parade has a super "small town" feel to it and this year's was no exception.
We waved and clapped and cheered and had the best time with friends!
Thank you so much to my friend Brooke for these next few pics! Aren't they great?!?!
After the parade we headed back to the car and I snagged a couple of pics of my patriotic crew before heading home for an afternoon in the pool.
We swam, ate popsicles, ate some more popsicles and then grilled burgers. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday :)
We also played Quirkle accompanied by a VERY patriotic Jack Bauer :)
This girl was ready for fireworks but fell asleep WELL before we needed to leave.
Dave took the boys to go watch the fireworks later that night and then when they got home we brought out the extra long sparklers in the driveway...
Monday night we went and had dinner with Dave's family and I dressed the kids preemptively festive - red, white and blue in the summer is my FAVORITE!
Wednesday all the kids had checkups and everyone is healthy and growing! The boys each grew about 2" this year and Griffin grew almost FOUR! This time last year she was still in diapers, using a paci and was 4" shorter! CRAZY!
She handled her booster shots like a champ and although we love our doctor we hope it's another year before we see him again!
I've been washing everyone's bedding this week and the ready-to-wash pile is always his FAVORITE spot to be :)
Picked up a few of my FAVORITE flowers earlier this week as well!
Last but not least... right before we left for Colorado we were invited to a preview night of the new Playstreet Museum in Allen and y'all... it is SO GOOD!!!
If you've read here a while you know I'm Playstreet's biggest fan (and no.... they don't pay me!) and the new location did not disappoint. The theme is "on the go" and everything fits the transportation theme perfectly and (as always) is so well done.
Mason immediately got into character...
... and tried out the train car. All the little switches and buttons and knobs move and he loved that it faced the windows so he felt like he was really driving.
They have an airplane! AN AIRPLANE! Complete with baggage scanner and scale and tiny luggage.
The ice cream truck and bakery were big hits..
... and check out the little dress-up waitress costume!
Of course they have a travel agency...
... fully stocked with everything you need to plan and then go on a trip :)
But I think the crown jewel was the train table...
... I mean! Have you ever seen anything so awesome?!?! All of my kids LOVE to play with our train set and this put all of the ones we've ever played with to shame :)
All in all it was a fabulous evening at our FAVORITE place! We still have TONS OF LOVE for the other locations but can't wait to head back to Allen soon.
Hope that y'all are having a wonderful week and have tons of fun (and/or relaxing!) plans for the weekend.
Whoa!!! I'm in awe of that train table too! So fun hanging out with you on the Fourth!

ReplyDeleteMe too!!! Love the cars!
DeleteAll the heart eyes for your crew's red white and blue attire. I was looking back at our photos from last Fourth of July and I was also shocked by how much my gal has changed over the last year. No more diapers, lost the baby face, legs a mile long. Slow down, time!

DeleteYour town just seems amazing! I must plan a trip to Texas to visit and to hit up Playstreet! X would love it! What a fun week/weekend you all had!
ReplyDeleteIt's a special place for sure!!!
DeleteI'm just curious to know if your kids have dual citizenship being that you're still a Canadian citizen? Also, have they ever experienced Canada Day? I think it's so awesome how patriotic everyone gets!! ( I mean that for both countries ;) )
ReplyDeleteThey don't have dual... but it's something we've definitely thought about. As far as Canada day goes we really haven't celebrated it with the kids, but that's a fantastic idea! Making a note of it for next year. Thanks, Amanda!
DeleteI cannot believe how much Griffin grew this last year!! That is just crazy! And it really does show in pictures, too, because that one of her above with the overalls on makes her look SO OLD.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that crazy?!?! It's been a big year for her!!!
DeleteI wish places like Playstreet were around when my boys were young, how cool! Also, what a fun parade, love the old cars and festive pics. Love the Fourth!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had had Playstreet when Luke was younger as well!

We loved it and would love for it to come to College Station!! Thank you for blogging so much about it!!! It was the best!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's AWESOME!!! I think they're franchising throughout Texas so hopefully it will be in your area soon!
