Friday Favorites - Zombie Edition :)

Happy Friday, friends!!!  This time next week I'll be in teacher meetings! HOW CRAZY IS THAT?!?!

Y'all know the drill... grab our graphic, link back to one (or all!) of us and share your Friday Favorites!

My boys have been super into playing Zombies this week.  By far their FAVORITE little make believe game.  Maybe it's just me, but when my kids are playing quietly in the other room I will listen to make sure they're fine, but I don't want them to see me because if they do that's when the whining and tattling starts :)  They had been upstairs for a while and when I listened in I could hear giggling and cooperative play and I was pumped.  About 20 minutes later they came downstairs to show me what they had been working on....

That's marker all over Luke's face.  Yeah, marker.

And then they proceeded to reenact a zombie attack and Mason "got him with a ray gun" (aka telescope).

While they definitely got points for creativity and teamwork we did have a little pow wow after about how markers should ONLY go on paper.

I'm hoping they'll recreate this photo for me when they're 14 and 17. And then again when they're in their thirties :)

Even with full zombie-face he still looks JUST like his daddy!!!

Earlier this week on Snapchat I shared my FAVORITE laundry products.
I've talked about the Dreft stain remover before and can't say enough about it's abilities.  It gets EVERYTHING out.  Every.  Thing.  Ketchup, spaghetti sauce, butter, etc.  It does it all.

The only thing I pre-treat is blood.  When we have scraped knees or a bloody finger that gets rubbed on a t-shirt I pour hydrogen peroxide on it, let it bubble, spray it with Dreft and then wash.  Works every time.

And last, but certainly not least are the Dreft blissfuls.  Their only purpose is to add the delicious baby smell of Dreft to your laundry and it is AMAZING!!!  I use free and clear detergent and dryer sheets and with the blissfuls everything smells heavenly.

Monday night we had some of our FAVORITE people over!  We love us some Shulls!  We have been in a church small group with the Shulls for ten years I believe (Shay??? 10, right??) and started eating dinner together long before we had kids.  Since then the other couples in our group have moved, but our small group lives on!  And what we lack in numbers we make up for in crazy :)

Funny small group story.... after I had Luke I was supposed to host small group (at the time there was only one baby other than Luke in our group of four couples) and apparently I said I was totally up for hosting but asked everyone to bring a pizza to share and I was going to make salad and dessert and such.  Well... in between that discussion and the actual small group dinner I forgot about said conversation and made a lasagna.  Then everyone showed up with pizza.  Thank you exhaustion/mommy brain :)

This week I made my favorite pulled pork recipe and was feeling totally "on my game" that afternoon when everything was done and the pork was cooking in the crock pot... well, 5:30 rolls around and the larger than normal roast wasn't anywhere near done.  Dave ran out and picked up some chopped brisket for sandwiches but it was funny nonetheless.  And I have 9 pounds of pulled pork bbq in my freezer :)

This girl's bedhead is my FAVORITE :)

And sipping on my tea in the morning is her FAVORITE.

This new show on Disney has been a FAVORITE this week as well!  Griffin and Mason are LOVING it!  I just need new episodes to come on so we can stop watching the same two over and over ;)

I mentioned this bathing suit from the Nordstrom sale last week and it arrived yesterday and is SO CUTE!  I ordered her a size 5 for next summer and I have a feeling it's going to be a FAVORITE.

Look how cute the back is! I feel like it's much more pink in person than online, which is PERFECT for my pink-loving girl.

And since we're talking Anniversary Sale FAVORITES this cape arrived at my house yesterday and I LOVE it!

I took these pictures at like 10:00 last night... I even put shoes and JEANS on after washing my face and putting my PJs on.  That's commitment :)

It's super roomy and kind of has a grandpa sweater vibe which I love and I thought it looked super cute even with just my black tank, distressed jeans and these clogs.

It has a cute cable that runs down the back and I'm excited to wear it with dark green cords this Fall.

The boys have been playing with these gears non-stop.  A FAVORITE of theirs this week for sure!

And Griffin and Mason can't get enough craft time.  I'm going to head to Hobby Lobby this weekend to restock on supplies!

Pretty sure we went through 100+ googly eyes yesterday alone.

Earlier this week my dad brought back our old computer for the kids to have.  When I got my new Mac he wiped the old one clean and reinstalled a few things and now it's on the desk area in our kitchen for the kids to use for online homework (all of Luke's homework last year was online), playing games and their FAVORITE right now... watching some of our movies on YouTube :)

Giggling at silly baby Mason :)

Check out Luke's sweet little arm around her!  And yes... that's Jack Bauer on the counter (sigh).

Next up is my FAVORITE hoodie company, Evys Tree!!!  They released the Janelle in Goldenrod yesterday and it is sooooo good!!!  I have a Janelle from a previous release in a size small and love it, this is a medium and I really like the oversized fit and extra sleeve length.  This one doesn't have any stretch... so keep that in mind if you're ordering.

The back has a cute overlapping detail that I love as well.

Confession time - Evys Tree sends me these hoodies every so often to help promote (and when I'm not promoting I'm ordering myself because I love them!) and I get totally intimidated to post my pictures :) The pictures that other girls post are professionally photographed and there's a lot of pretty hair and makeup and scenery and here I am in front of my garage door with pool hair and not a stitch of makeup.  Sometimes I wish I was on a beach, or at a marina or in some enchanted wood to take the pictures... but the reality is that I'm wearing these pieces in my every day, very unglamorous life... so that's what I show.  #keepingitreal

My "instagram husband" is so sweet though... telling me how cute I look with a baseball cap and only making the occasional "Oh, look! There's the neighbor" comment to make me want to awkwardly beeline it into the house :)  He's my FAVORITE.

If you're looking for a great deal, Evys Tree is running a big sale this weekend starting TODAY!  All of their sale items are an additional 25% off with the code ITSHOT25.

The Emma in Citrus is one of my FAVORITES as is the Silver Sophie.  Grab them before they run out, girls!

Last up is probably the FAVORITE I'm most excited about.  I'm sure y'all have already seen this, but I'm sharing it anyway because I'm so flipping excited!!!

I watched Gilmore Girls through the first time when Luke was newborn and have watched it through a few more times since then.  I am a HUGE fan and can't wait until November!  You better believe I'll be breaking out this shirt...

Happy Friday, friends!  Hoping y'all have a fun filled and safe weekend!

  2. I especially love the hemline of your yellow hoodie! Having real photos rather than professional photos helps readers imagine what the photographed items will look like in their lives, which professional photographs just don't do for me! I'm glad all your photos are real ones!

Wishing you and your family a good weekend!

  6. I was going to comment on how zombie Luke is like the best thing ever...but then I read what you wrote about us and that became the best thing ever ;). Ten years and 400 kids later (or at least it feels like that sometimes...) and it's still SO MUCH FUN! Love you McAnallys!!

  15. I loved all your favorites this week!! Specially the Gilmore Girls part!! I need to ask for a Gilmore Girls shirt for my birthday in order to wear it when the new shows come out. And I honestly appreciate the real photos, I'm not much to dress up and I always get intimidated when I see a piece of clothing I like but it's styled so differently from what I'm used to. So seeing your super cute hoodie with a hat and some jeans makes me want to buy it even more, honestly. Thank you for sharing your life with us, have a good weekend!!

    1. They run sales often - so be sure to keep checking back! Sometimes styles/sizes sell out before they hit the sale page, but there's still lots of great stuff marked down. The quality is great and you really can't go wrong!

  19. We have those same Gears and I cannot seem to get my five year old interested in them. He'll play for them for a few minutes and then grow bored. I thought for sure that they would be one of those things to keep him busy for hours, but no such luck. I'm thinking maybe when he's a little older...

  20. Your Evys Tree photos are my favorite! I am in the same city as them and a huge fan from the beginning. All the IG photos that are so fancy are not real life. I know I don't look like that in mine, lol. Thanks for keeping it real!

    1. Don't get me wrong! I LOVE the gorgeous photos that others post - it's just intimidating to post my garage door selfie knowing it's probably going to be sandwiched in between two magazine quality pics :) hahaha So glad you appreciate the everyday style of my pics!

I bought my first ever, the Silver Sophie, because you always look so cute and comfy in them. I have yet to wear it because it's been like living on the sun in PA this summer but I'm looking forward to taking it to the beach in September. I wanted to tell you as soon as I saw Shay post the instagram of you two how absolutely beautiful you looked:)Happy weekend, Andrea!
