Christmas Decor - Part 2

Yes, that's right - an entire second post dedicated to Christmas decor.
If I could insert an emoji here it would be the monkey covering his eyes :)

I love to add a few Christmas touches around the house in areas other than our main living area so I thought I'd share those today!

First up is Griffin's room...

I picked up these flannel sheets for her last year and was so excited to put them on her bed.  Love some soft flannels in the winter!

I hung this little garland above her window and decorated it with ornaments that hung on my dad's Christmas tree growing up - and before then they hung on my grandfather's tree!

We know for sure that the one with the tinsel (in the picture below), hung on my Poppa's tree when he was a kid (in the 1920's).

I LOVE the colors and sentimental value of the ornaments and needed to find a "safe" way to display them, so this worked out perfectly.  Once I had them up I felt like the garland itself was a little sad, so I threw on some of GG's bows :) hahaha

On the other side of her room I switched out her lamp for a little tree, hung up a few stockings and I LOVE how it turned out!

I love all these whimsical/bohemian/crafty ornaments that I picked up at Target last year (and maybe the year before as well??? I can't remember).

Griffin's FAVORITE ornament is this horse, which she calls her unicorn :)  She insists that this one hang on the lowest branch possible. hahaha

Lace and nesting dolls.  LOVE.

The tree skirt is actually a Matilda Jane skirt :)

And now on to the Boys Room!

The boys wanted their gingerbread houses on display in their room, and I happily obliged.  I put them on aluminum foil after they had hardened and am hoping they'll be fine on there until Christmas.

The boys flannels are from Pottery Barn Kids.  I am OBSESSED with the Grinch print.

At one point earlier in the season the garland had little hot wheels and Lego guys in it, but alas, they've been pulled out for play. :)

In our bedroom I changed out our white sheets for plaid flannels and added a few festive throw pillows.

Looking into the office from our bedroom...

A little potted tree and some pillows added a little festive :)

LOVE getting this picture out every year - it's my dad on Santa's knee when he was a kid!

And this has been my "post" for the last 4 weeks or so.  I've been in that chair from 8:00 p.m. until the wee hours of the morning cranking out cards ;)  It's a good thing it's cozy in here!

So that's it!  I hope you enjoyed the rest of the tour!

Happy Wednesday, Friends!!!

  9. I love that your Starbucks cup followed you around throughout the tour! First Griffin's room, then the boys room, and ended in your room. Red cups are definitely a staple of the season! :)

  11. Wow, good thing you have those flannel sheets to keep you warm during the 70 degree weather you're having in Dallas. I'm sure you'll be even more thankful for them when it plummets into the "frigid" mid-fifties later in the week!

    1. Why so much judgment? Maybe they keep their house a little on the chilly side and the sheets feel nice! Either way, I don't see any reason this would be anything to comment on.

    2. Lol I agree, who cares? I'm constantly freezing and currently am wearing sweats with my heat turned up to 72 even though it's 55 here in PA. Why are flannel sheets something to snark on?!

    3. If you don't have something kind to comment....don't comment at all!

      Love the sheets, Andrea! :)

    4. Is this comment really unkind or judgmental? I think it's actually kind of funny and clearly meant as a joke because it IS in the seventies this week in the Dallas area. You ladies really need to lighten up!

    5. Sounds like an unkind comment to me. : /

Keep up the great posts, Andrea!

  17. I love all the little touches!!! So festive. Also I am beyond jealous of how clean your house is!!! ;)

  18. Wow, untrue and unnecessary comment! But you have to lol at the irony that it's right after my comment about being jealous of how clean your house is! Guess mine must be beyond gross and dirty since I'm impressed with yours, Andrea! ;)

  19. Oh my gosh, Andrea. I just read that rude comment from Anonymous and I literally felt like I got socked in the gut.
I look forward to reading your posts everyday and you are an amazing person! I've commented before about how you are a great wife, mom, teacher and friend. Please don't let the mean spirited comments dull your sparkle!

    Xoxo,

  20. Wasn't that sweet? I love how much judgement there was considering that Anonymous has never set foot in my house :) And to clarify - my house is neither dusty or gross.

  21. So much judgment! I just don't understand the rude comments. You are awesome, Andrea. Don't let it get to you.
