Weekend Recap - Rainy Day Edition

Friday morning Griffin and I started off the day doing her favorite thing (pretend driving) while the boys loaded themselves and all of their gear into the van with Dave.

Later in the morning Dave surprised me at school with a Starbucks and some GG :)

She always loves writing on my SmartBoard, high fiving my kiddos and showing off the shoes she picked out. hahaha

Can you tell it was humid out???

Friday night we laid low with a movie and snuggle time.

Saturday morning the boys and I hit up the grocery store bright and early.  We checked out the pumpkins, but refrained for now.  (I know, right?? Who would have thought!???) hahaha

While we were stocking up on the necessary items for the week, Dave was at dance class with Griffin.  The face she's giving him in the picture below cracks me up!!!

She was looking so cute in this blue leotard - and she picked out her own bow and boots to coordinate.  #fashionista

The rest of the morning/afternoon was super quiet.  The boys went down to my parents house to play and so it was just me and Griffin.  We painted, put away several loads of laundry, changed sheets and read Brown Bear about 14 times :)

Griffin was cracking me up - she insisted on eating her lunch using Jack Bauer's crate as a table.  She's a mess.

Luke's soccer game that afternoon was canceled due to the weather, so we got to enjoy some Lego time and then it was early to bed for everyone... including this sweet girl in her kitty jammies :)

Sunday morning snuggles :)

Dave and I were getting lunch ready and when I walked through the family room, Luke and Jack Bauer were lounging together :)  Such a handsome guy!!!

We were getting ready for nap time and Griffin was laying in bed next to me.  DAve came in to take her to her bed and he had her giggling like nobody's business.  I snapped this picture and am IN LOVE with it!  Dave is the absolute sweetest daddy ever and I love how it captures that.

After naps, the boys went to AWANAs and I worked on grading papers.  We picked the boys up from AWANAs a few minutes early and Griffin and I waited in the car while Dave ran in to get them.  This is how they came out to the car... I think they had a good time :)

It was crazy hat day and Mason picked the dragon hat from his knight party :)

We went straight from AWANAs to the Shulls house for dinner.  We always have the best time with them and my kids came home exhausted from playing so hard :)

We ended the night with a nightgown and scraggly piggies...

... which apparently Griffin found just as hilarious as we did :)

I hope your weekend was just as restful and relaxing as ours was!

Happy Monday, Friends!!!

  6. Happy Monday! This may be random but I was wondering if GG is potty trained yet? Or are you working with her? My lo is 20 months and went both things on potty yesterday and wondering if I should go full force potty training mood. I just went back and read your post about training Luke and Mason, and truthfully I can't tell if my lo is ready or not. Have a great week. Thanks

    1. She isn't... I should probably do a follow-up post about that soon. I think that if you can't tell if they're ready yet, then they're probably not. Don't rush it!

  7. I refrained from getting pumpkins this weekend too. They had the cutest ones at the grocery store! I'm holding off for another couple of weeks until I make a trip to the pumpkin patch!

    1. I would have scooped some up, but I wasn't sure they'd last all the way to Halloween. Pumpkin patch it is!!!

  10. How many pairs of Hunter Boots does Griffin have?

    1. Who cares how many boots she has? It doesn't impact my family, and my guess is they are not on welfare (that's when I get really angry lol), so to each their own!
