Friday Favorites - Keepin' It Random Edition

This weeks Friday Favorites are just as random as ever :)

First up is this picture of Mason that I got this week from his teacher.  They were using alphabet magnets to spell out words that were labeled around the room on cookie sheets and Mason asked to use a marker instead.  He came back a few minutes later to show her this!

We were both pleasantly surprised as Mason isn't always super enthusiastic about writing :)

While I was thrilled with his accomplishment, we still encouraged him to accomplish the task at hand (spelling with the letter magnets) and he did it yesterday :)  #proudmama  Watching him grow and learn at school is my FAVORITE!

He also brought home his self portrait, which for SURE is going in the "keep drawer"

Luke has been busy at school this week, too... taking selfies with cute high school girls ;) hahaha

On Monday, DAve spent the day with his FAVORITE girl and they ran a bunch of errands including stopping by the Honda dealership.  Dave's brother works there and Griffin is friends with everyone ;)

That is not Dave's brother, Stephen, that's one of his co-workers who was filling in for the receptionist.

They checked out new cars and she got to live out her dream of unlimited pretend driving :)

They also stopped by and said hi to Cynthia!  Cynthia is my future-sister-in-law :)  We're just waiting for Stephen to get a move on. hahaha

Cyn-fia is our FAVORITE!

After a couple more errands Dave met up with his parents and grandmas for lunch at Dairy Queen.  Isn't that what all the cool kids do on Mondays?!?!?! :)

Apparently Griffin's lunch came with a "small" ice cream.

Get it, girl!

Her FAVORITE after school activity?  Pretend driving.  I think she may grow up and be a race car or truck or bus driver :)

Getting this DM on Instagram was a FAVORITE from this week as well!  I LOVE when people are able to take ideas I share and make them their own!  How sweet do these look look for her sons party?!?!?!

Two of Griffin's FAVORITE things are yogurt and Jack Bauer.  Except that it's not my FAVORITE when you put the two together.  She likes to feed him her yogurt... and share a spoon.  GROSS!

One of my FAVORITE shows is coming back in January... time to watch all the seasons to refresh before it comes back!

Griffin's Happy Morning pictures from yesterday were some of my FAVORITE.  Hot. Mess. Express.

Cheese face on repeat :)

We're excited to head to some MCA football games (and Luke's soccer games!) this Fall and I ordered this pullover for Griffin (in two sizes so she'd always have it for school spirit purposes!) since our mascot is the mustangs.  School spirit is my FAVORITE and I think it will be precious with skinny jeans and her yellow Hunter boots.

I mentioned the geckos on our bathroom windows on Instagram and they seemed to be polarizing.  People were either terrified of them or loved them... there didn't seem to be too much middle ground :)

The little geckos that show up on our windows at night are the kids FAVORITE!

Especially my little inquisitive scientist, Luke.

The AMAZING Crystal sent me this picture this week and I SQUEALED!!!  If you're looking for great quality festive PJs be sure to follow Crystal Faye on Instagram.  These were a pre-order, but she'll be posting her extras in the coming months!

Since we're still a ways away from actual Fall clothes, I've been living in flowy, trapeze style dresses.  The red/orange one you can find HERE and the print one is from last summer.

If swing dresses are your thing here are a few super cute ones (just click on the picture).

My FAVORITE piece of schoolwork Luke brought home this week was this picture.  I love the WUSSSSSSS (aka "whooooosh") noise coming out of the plane :)

The boys both requested to be "army guys" for Halloween.  I ordered these from Zulily and they are OVER THE MOON!  I had visions of a cute family theme (my FAVORITE!), but it looks like I'm going to have a menagerie of costumes again this year with two army guys and a cupcake ;)

Last up, this sweet boy had yellow day yesterday at school.  He's my FAVORITE in the mornings because he still holds my hand and walks in with me. hahaha

I hope y'all have a FANTASTIC long weekend!  I'm not sure if I'll be back on Monday or not, but check back in just in case I get my act together this weekend :)   And don't forget that Tuesday is going to be my Teacher Tuesday classroom tour link-up.  I'm so excited!!!

You should totally have G be a military nurse, this way you can still have your family themed Halloween! Those military costumes for L and M are so stinkin adorable!

    2. She could also be a soldier because there are many, many women soldiers.

    3. I bought her cupcake costume resale last year... But am loving all of these ideas! I would have ordered her the same costume as the boys except it didn't come that small. so sad!!! My original idea was to have the boys be foods as well to coordinate with her cupcake costume... But I couldn't crush their camo dreams ;)

  11. In the picture of Luke with the high school girls, I thought the girl on the left was Shay at first. She looks so much like her that she could be her daughter. :)

  13. I love that you wrote that Griffin could grow up and be a truck or race car driver! So awesome to see parenting where there are no gender stereotypes...You can be super girly and still grow up to have a "guy job" and its awesome to see parents who encourage their children to be whatever they want to be!! Also its nice to see you realize that fall is still a ways away ; ) Your trapeze dresses are adorable-I want to order some now

    1. My singular wish for all my kids is that they find a career path that they're passionate about - regardless of whether it fits within a gender stereotype. I want them to be happy and fulfilled and will always encourage them to try new things. :) And you TOTALLY need some trapeze dresses. Have a great weekend, Charlotte!!!
